In Steal An Egg, a pet is only as good as the money it prints while you are off raiding the next nest. Every animal you hatch generates a fixed amount of cash per second, and the gap between the weakest and strongest pets is enormous. A starter Chicken pays $1 per second, while the top Divine pet pays billions. If your goal is to grow your pen and unlock higher biomes fast, base income is the number that matters.
Quick answer: The best pet is the Shattered Colossus (Divine) at $3.5B per second, followed by Kitsune ($3.2B/s) and Nightflame ($3B/s). Prioritize SS-tier pets, then fill remaining slots with the highest-income animals you can carry safely.

How pets are ranked in Steal An Egg
Ranking here is driven by one figure: base income per second at normal size. That value is fixed by the game and shows in the Pet Index. Rarity and income usually rise together, but not perfectly, so the tier a pet lands in follows its cash rate rather than its rarity color.
Two things change a pet’s real payout beyond the base number. Larger pets earn more than the standard-size figures below, and mutations raise a pet’s rate above its base. When you have a mutated or oversized copy of a pet, keep it over the plain one. Claiming a pet’s entry in the Index also grants a one-time Cash and Speed reward, but the passive income is where the long-term value sits.
This ranking reflects the September 2026 version of the game, with The Rift event running and the Cherry Blossom biome in play. Numbers can shift on any update, so treat the in-game Index as the final word if a value changes.

These nine pets sit far above everything else. The four Divine entries anchor the list, and the Eternal boss pets from The Rift event fill the rest. If you can hatch or claim any of them, they belong on your base immediately.
| Pet | Rarity | Income/sec |
|---|---|---|
| Shattered Colossus | Divine | $3.5B |
| Kitsune | Divine | $3.2B |
| Nightflame | Divine | $3B |
| Unicorn | Divine | $1B |
| Void Serpent | Eternal | $900M |
| Gorilla King | Eternal | $880M |
| Shattered Drake | Eternal | $800M |
| Oni Tiger | Eternal | $600M |
| World Eater | Eternal | $500M |
The Shattered Colossus is the single strongest pet at $3.5B per second, but it is locked behind The Rift event and costs three sacrificed pets at the Riftborn Banner. Among permanent options, Kitsune, Nightflame, and Unicorn are the most reliable long-term earners since they drop from their own Divine Eggs and stay in the game after events end.

The Rift event pets and how to get them
The Rift event is currently live and holds several of the strongest pets in the game. The Shattered Colossus comes from the Riftborn Banner and requires sacrificing three pets to obtain it. Void Serpent, World Eater, and Shattered Drake are Eternal pets hatched from the Riftborn, Riftbeasts, and Shattered Rift Banners.
Secret pets like Shardwing and Mawbreaker also appear during the event. These are limited-time exclusives, so hatch them before the event closes. No official end date is confirmed right now, so treat them as time-limited and prioritize them while the banners are available.
Kitsune is a permanent Divine pet that drops from the Cherry Blossom biome’s Divine Egg. On top of its $3.2B per second income, claiming its Index entry rewards 180B Cash and 6.8M Speed. Nightflame and Unicorn are also permanent Divine pets from their own eggs, making all three safe picks that outlast any event window.

The fastest way to climb is to grind low-tier pets only long enough to build Speed, then trade up. Every biome resets the income scale to bigger numbers, so pushing your Speed to reach the next biome almost always beats squeezing a slightly better pet out of your current one. Cut low earners from your pen the moment a stronger animal is within carry range.
