The Blood of Dawnwalker: Church Tower Location and From Above Walkthrough

Where to find the Church Tower in Laslea Glen, how to scout it, and what finishing From Above unlocks.

Where to find the Church Tower in Laslea Glen, how to scout it, and what finishing From Above unlocks.

The Church Tower is the first Scouting Tower you climb in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it doubles as the objective of the early quest “From Above.” It sits in Laslea Glen, the village where the Blood Mass takes place during the prologue, and the climb is short enough that most players finish it in under two minutes once they know where to go.

Quick answer: Track the Church Tower in Laslea Glen from the map, use Coen’s bat-swarm teleport to warp up the walls to the roof, then enter Scene Investigation and hold the investigate prompt on every highlighted clue until Coen says “That’ll be all.” The quest ends immediately, awarding 100 XP.

Church Tower location in Laslea Glen

The tower belongs to the church in Coen’s home village. Open the map, zoom into the Laslea Glen region, and select the Church Tower marker, then press the track option so the objective stays pinned on your HUD. From the village paths, run through the stone archway that leads to the churchyard and the tower is directly ahead.

How to climb the Church Tower

Open the map and set the Church Tower as your tracked objective. The marker sits inside the village itself, so you will not need a long trek from the quest giver.

Run through the stone archway toward the church and stop at the base of the tower. Coen notes that the climb should be simple, which is your cue that no combat or key is needed here.
Use the bat-swarm teleport to warp up the wall, chaining it from ledge to ledge until you land on the roof and reach the very top. This is Coen’s vampiric traversal power, so it only works at night — the same rule applies to every Scouting Tower in the game.

Note: climbing a Scouting Tower does not advance the in-game clock. Since time pressure drives the whole campaign, tower runs are among the cheapest activities you can do in an evening.

Scout the area: every clue on the Church Tower

Reaching the top swaps the objective to “Scout the area” and drops you into Scene Investigation. Move the camera with the left stick to sweep the horizon, then hold the investigate button on each highlighted point until Coen comments on it. The clues are spread across the skyline, so pan a full circle rather than looking in one direction.

Four landmarks need tagging before the objective clears.

The village below“Home… What’s left of it.”
Anca’s hut“Anca’s hut is over that way…”
The peat bogs“These peat bogs have quite the reputation…”
The gates“Much good those gates did for us.”

Once all four are logged, Coen says “That’ll be all,” and the exit prompt appears. Press the exit button to leave Scene Investigation.

How to confirm From Above is complete

The moment the last clue is investigated, a “QUEST ENDED” banner for “From Above” appears and 100 XP is added. At this point in the game that pushes Coen to Level 5, so a LEVEL UP notification with a SHOW prompt and skill points also pops up. The journal then lists the new quest “Echoes of Silenced Bells,” with the objective to meet Anca at the old inn.

If the objective is still stuck on “Scout the area,” you have missed a clue. Leaving Scene Investigation early or panning across only part of the skyline are the two things that leave it unfinished, so re-enter investigation mode and sweep the full horizon again.

What the Church Tower unlocks on the map

Surveying from the top does more than close a quest. Each vantage point you tag fills the world map with question-mark icons for nearby activities, locations, and points of interest, which is how you find things like Sacred Stones, Ancient Circles, and Haunted Sites without wandering. There is also loot at the top of the church — the Aether Flow Manual, one of the skill manuals scattered across the Scouting Towers.

The Church Tower is one of 11 Scouting Towers across Vale Sangora, and clearing all of them awards the Bird’s-Eye View trophy. Because none of them cost you in-game time, knocking them out early gives you a mapped-out valley before the campaign’s clock starts to bite.
