The Ring is a follow-up objective that only appears once Coen decides to keep the sigil-carved ring instead of handing it back to Farkas. From that point, the quest asks you to track down someone who can explain the dark magic worked into it, and there are exactly two people who can.
Quick answer: Bring the ring to either Anca or the Matriarch of Uriashi village in The Blood of Dawnwalker. Both tell you to destroy it, and each hands Coen a different reward for doing so.
How to trigger The Ring quest first
You can only reach the “find someone who knows about the ring” step if you set the quest up correctly during your dealings with Bakir. You can approach Bakir before, during, or after the Lunar Trial, as long as the Boyar is alone.
Who can identify the ring
Two characters can read the magic in the ring, and both give the same advice to destroy it. The difference is the reward Coen receives, so pick the one whose bonuses suit your build.

Anca stresses that the ring holds dark and dangerous magic and must be destroyed, then rewards Coen with the Quick Fighter’s Ring. The Matriarch gives the same warning and hands over the Vrakhir’s Endurance Amulet instead.
How to reach the Matriarch in Uriashi village
You meet the Matriarch through Lacra. During the Song of the Mountain quest, Coen and Lacra climb the snowy peaks searching for Uriashi Village, and the Matriarch appears once you arrive. Entry is straightforward if you know Ocha and have already finished her quest back in Svartrau City.
Confirming the quest is complete
Handing the ring to Anca or the Matriarch closes out The Ring quest and drops the matching reward straight into Coen’s inventory. You do not need to visit both, since either choice destroys the ring and finishes the objective.
If the “keep it” prompt never showed up, one of two things went wrong during setup. Taking Bakir’s money as your reward and walking away after asking about the ring locks you out of the quest entirely. Coen also never gets the option to hold onto the ring unless you specifically asked Bakir about it in the first place, which is what points you toward Farkas.
