The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Get the Legendary Knightly Ring

The buried Legendary ring in Tantari Woods is reachable within your first hours and costs a single time segment to dig up.

The buried Legendary ring in Tantari Woods is reachable within your first hours and costs a single time segment to dig up.

The Knightly Ring is one of the few Legendary pieces in The Blood of Dawnwalker that sits at a fixed spot on the map, which means you can walk straight to it instead of praying for a chest roll. It is buried in a bog in Tantari Woods, and nothing about the route requires a quest, a boss fight, or a treasure map. You just need to know where the dirt mound is.

Quick answer: Head south from the starting gates along the main road, taking the right-hand forks until you reach the bog just south of St. Lyphe’s Grove, cross the wooden bridge, and interact with the dirt mound near the trees to dig up the Knightly Ring. Digging costs one in-game time segment.

Knightly Ring stats and level requirement

The ring is a defensive accessory first and a Swordmastery accessory second. It cuts incoming damage from both physical and magical sources, trims ability cooldowns, and feeds Activation Charges back to you every time you land an attack.

PropertyValue
Rarity / typeLegendary Ring
Item level16
Required Level12
Swordmastery Ability Cooldown-7%
Activation Charge Restoration from Attack+21%
Magical Damage Reduction+7%
Physical Damage Reduction+4.2%
Damage against Supernatural Enemies+0%

The Required Level of 12 only gates equipping the ring, not picking it up. You can grab it at level 7 or lower and let it sit in your inventory until Coen catches up. If you want it working sooner, it is worth clearing a few nearby encounters on the way down rather than sprinting straight to the mound.

Where the Knightly Ring is buried in Tantari Woods

The dig site is in the swampy stretch of Tantari Woods directly south of St. Lyphe’s Grove. Open the world map and put a marker on that bog before you set off, because the area reads as generic swamp once you are inside it and the mound is easy to walk past.

One thing that trips people up: the treasure is tied to the Bandit’s Treasure Map: Tantari Woods, but you do not need that map in your inventory to dig. The mound is interactable regardless, and the map itself is actually one of the items you pull out of the ground.

Route from the starting gates to the dig spot

Leave the starting gates and follow the main road south. Keep taking the right-hand fork at every split so you stay pointed toward Tantari Woods rather than looping back toward the shrine objectives.

Continue until the ground turns to swamp just south of St. Lyphe’s Grove. You are looking for a wooden bridge running over the water.
Cross the bridge. There are enemies patrolling this area and they will be well above your level early on, so wait for them to move off or slip past them rather than committing to a fight.
Find the dirt mound near the cluster of trees on the far side and hold the interact prompt to dig. Confirm the prompt when the game warns you that the action advances time.

Before you dig, sweep the ground around the bridge. A white sack on the ground holds Vrakhi’s Endurance along with 301 Denarius, and looting it does not cost you any time.

Vrakhi’s Endurance is Epic Armor at item level 15 with a Required Level of 11, so it lands one level earlier than the ring. It carries +22.4% Blood Drinking Restoration, +5.6% Magical Damage Reduction, and +3.4% Physical Damage Reduction, which stacks cleanly with the ring’s own resistances.

What the mound contains and what it costs

Digging burns one in-game time segment. That matters in The Blood of Dawnwalker because the clock only moves forward and every action pushes you closer to the end of your family’s window, so treat the trip as a single planned detour rather than something you repeat.

How to confirm you actually got the ring

The loot window that opens after the dig lists the Knightly Ring with a Legendary tag. Take Loot All, then open your inventory and check the accessories tab — the ring should read “Knightly Ring / Legendary Ring / Level 16” with a Required Level of 12 in its tooltip. If the tooltip text is greyed out, that is the level gate, not a missing item.

If the mound will not give a prompt, you are almost certainly standing at the wrong pile of dirt. The correct one sits past the wooden bridge next to the trees, not on the approach side of the water. And if a patrol has aggro on you, the interact prompt will not appear until combat drops.

Note: an item’s level does not lock it out of your endgame build. Blacksmiths and armorers can upgrade gear later, so an early Legendary is worth carrying even once its numbers look small.

The Knightly Ring is also one of four Legendaries with a guaranteed, fixed home in the world, alongside the Arbiter’s Medallion in the waterfall cave southeast of Parlita, the Mindbrace Amulet from a Xanthe Court excavation, and the Ancient Footwear from a boss room chest. Everything else in the Legendary pool comes from random chest rolls or vendor stock, which makes this bog run one of the most reliable early upgrades available to Coen.
