Xanthe’s Transports: Chosen One Walkthrough in The Blood of Dawnwalker

Where the moving convoy sits, how the fight plays out, and how it feeds the Delivery Delay trophy.

Where the moving convoy sits, how the fight plays out, and how it feeds the Delivery Delay trophy.

Chosen One is one of Xanthe’s Abducted Transports in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it behaves differently from the camp-style Court Activities. There is no static objective to clear. A small escort walks a prisoner along a road in Xanthe’s region, and you have to catch up to the group before the quest marker will even appear.

Quick answer: Follow the road in Xanthe’s territory near Tattelwurm’s Lair until the yellow “!” icon pops up, kill every soldier escorting the woman, and let the cutscene play out. The activity ends on its own and burns 3 time segments.

Xanthe’s Transports: Chosen One requirements and cost

This is a Court Activity tied to Xanthe, which means finishing it pushes her Anger level up toward the point where her main quest, The Cycle of Love, unlocks. Enemies in her region hit noticeably harder than Ambrus’s, so treat it as late-order content.

Note: the activity stays available indefinitely as long as you have not started it. Nothing about Chosen One expires on its own, so there is no rush to do it before the other transports.

How to find the moving transport

Climb a scouting tower in Xanthe’s part of the map first. Towers convert nearby undiscovered Court Activities into white question mark icons, which is the only reliable way to know a transport route exists before you walk into it.
Track the activity in the journal and open the map. The marker sits in the wetlands close to Tattelwurm’s Lair, and the map pin points at the road rather than a fixed camp.
Walk the road in both directions. The escort shifts position slightly as it travels, so the white “?” only flips to a yellow “!” once you are close enough to the group. If nothing appears, double back along the same stretch instead of wandering off-road.

How to beat the escort guarding the prisoner

Engage on your terms. The group is several armored soldiers rather than one guard captain, and they will surround you quickly on the narrow swamp paths. Coen is stronger at night with claws, so timing the interception after dark is the easiest version of the fight.

Fight near the water and the plank bridge rather than in the open. The shallows funnel the escort toward you a couple at a time, which keeps you from getting flanked while you burn down the heavier soldiers.

Clear the stragglers on the bridge itself. The last defenders tend to hold that crossing, and the fight will not resolve until every marked enemy in the group is dead.

The cutscene and how to confirm it completed

Killing the escort triggers a short scene with the freed woman, and it is not a thank-you. She is furious about being rescued, because she wanted to be delivered to the boyaress’s court. Your dialogue here does not change the outcome of the activity.

You know it worked when the objective clears from the journal, XP is awarded, and the clock advances by 3 segments. If you were tracking another quest before this, the HUD swaps back to that objective once the conversation ends.

How Chosen One feeds the Delivery Delay trophy

There are 10 Vrakhiri Transports across the map, and wrecking any 8 of them unlocks the Delivery Delay trophy and achievement. Chosen One is the tenth entry on that list, so it is a common one to finish last.

Tip: Fair Maiden is the other mobile convoy in Xanthe’s region and works exactly the same way, so it is efficient to run both in one trip through the swamp roads.

Why the quest marker will not appear

  • You have not climbed a nearby tower yet, so the activity is still listed as an unknown one and shows no icon at all.
  • You are close to the marker but not close to the group. The escort moves along its route, so the “!” only triggers when you reach the soldiers themselves.
  • You are searching off the road. These transports always travel a road, never a camp or clearing.

Chosen One is one of the cheapest Anger sources in Xanthe’s region for the effort involved, since there is no puzzle, no note to hunt in Focus Mode, and no container to open. Find the road, win one fight, sit through a short scene, and the Court Activity is off your list.
