The Elixir Theft is a Wandering Tale in Where Winds Meet that runs entirely inside Mercyheart Town on the western side of Sundara Land, Qinghe. It starts with Xie Ciniang, sends you to a cave for a Lost Medicine Bag, and ends with a choice that decides who you hand the bag to. The whole thing takes only a few minutes once you know where to go.
How to unlock The Elixir Theft in Mercyheart Town
The quest opens in the western part of Sundara Land, Qinghe. Head to Mercyheart Town and look for the house on the northern edge marked by a brazier and Buddha statues out front. Xie Ciniang is inside, sitting on the floor beside Pan Pinxuan.
If the Tale does not appear yet, ask the Wayfarer at Sundara Land to point you toward it. Speaking with Xie Ciniang triggers the story. She explains that her husband vanished after trying to steal medicine for Pan Pinxuan, and she asks you to track down the missing medicine.
The Elixir Theft full walkthrough
Step 1: Enter Xie Ciniang's house in Mercyheart Town and talk to her. She lays out the situation and gives you the goal of recovering the medicine her husband went after.
Step 2: Travel to the Mercyheart Town Boundary Stone. Climb the rock and turn right into the small cave entrance ringed by lilac flowers. This same path is also the Infernal Dungeon, so guards may be blocking the way on your first visit.
Step 3: If guards appear, you are inside the Injustice Quest: Infernal Dungeon. Defeat them and free the prisoners to clear the area, then continue toward the cave interior.
Step 4: Move to the top right corner of the cave and grab the Lost Medicine Bag sitting beside the pots. Picking it up updates the quest and gives you the item you need for the final step.
Step 5: Choose your ending. You can walk the bag straight back to Xie Ciniang, or you can take it underground to Pan Fading in the Rat Cave for a different conclusion.
Two endings for The Elixir Theft
The Tale branches at the delivery step, and both paths complete the quest with the same rewards. The difference is the story outcome.

The second route is the more satisfying one. Taking the bag to Pan Fading exposes that the stolen "elixir" was fake all along, which is why he destroys it and seeks proper treatment for his child instead.

How to confirm the quest is complete
You will know The Elixir Theft is done when the Wandering Tale closes out and the rewards drop into your inventory right after you deliver the Lost Medicine Bag. If the Tale does not advance, the most common cause is not actually holding the bag yet, so return to the cave's top right corner and confirm you collected it before heading to either Xie Ciniang or Pan Fading.
