The UPD 4.0 wave reshuffled the meta in Universal Tower Defense Z, and the new Bleach units land right at the top. Moonless Sky and The Almighty now sit among the highest damage dealers in the game, while the returning Spider synchros and Gogeta fusion still define the endgame ceiling. Rankings here focus on how units perform in Nightmare, Infinite, Challenges, Virtual Realm, and Events rather than early story progression, where almost any upgraded and Etherealized unit can carry.
Quick answer: For raw carry power in UPD 4.0, prioritize the Symbiote Spider and Mechanical Spider synchros, Fused Warrior (Super), and the Hybrid/Hill S-tier of Ultimate Fused Warrior, Moonless Sky, The Almighty, and Visionary (Unrivaled). Run Bulma as your baseline farm unit, adding Fastcart when you plan to Synchro Fuse.

How these units were ranked
Placements weigh sustained DPS, crowd control, debuffs, and team support across the hardest modes. S-Tier is the current meta, A-Tier is sub-meta, and B-Tier covers strong situational or alternative picks. Anything not listed can be treated as C or D-Tier, meaning it is playable but rarely worth the investment unless you enjoy the playstyle. This ranking reflects the UPD 4.0 patch (July 2026).
Position inside a single tier is not a strict order. Units within the same tier are close enough in value that placement is not power-ranked left to right.

Synchro units come from fusing two max-upgraded units, either owned by you or requested from another player. Clash variants trigger a shared attack when both units sit in range at max upgrade. The two Spider-Man synchros and the Gogeta synchro are the standout S-Tier options, with the rest landing in the A to B range.
| Tier | Synchro units |
|---|---|
| S | Symbiote Spider, Mechanical Spider, Fused Warrior (Super) |
| A–B | Revolutionary Chief (Spade), Unparalleled Armor, Majestic Armor, Underworld God, Pirate King & Quake Warlord (Clash), Jane Juliet & Mimicry Sorcerer (Clash) |
Symbiote Spider is the strongest overall, mixing follow-up attacks, web slows, and Dark damage amplification for both personal and team output. Mechanical Spider trades a little self-DPS for nanotech damage amplification that lifts the whole board. Unparalleled Armor stands out among the debuff synchros because it applies a 3-second Stun or Confuse on every hit while breaking armor, which is why it edges out Majestic Armor despite Majestic’s higher crit damage.
Revolutionary Chief (Spade) leans into damage-over-time, using critical strike burns to melt bosses and on-kill DoT explosions to clear crowds. Run a Ruler plus critical build on it rather than Astral. The two Clash pairs add extra nuke value, with Pirate King and Quake Warlord giving you a second nuke on top of Quake Warlord’s built-in one.

Hybrid and Hill units ranked
This is where the Bleach 4.0 additions make the biggest impact. Moonless Sky and The Almighty both push into S-Tier, joining the established Hybrid heavyweights.
| Tier | Hybrid / Hill units |
|---|---|
| S | Ultimate Fused Warrior, Moonless Sky, The Almighty, Visionary (Unrivaled), Perfect Maximum Bio-Android, Blanco Beast, Merciless God, Angel Born in Hell (Unrivaled), Trickster (Phantom), Light Prince (Ascension) |
| A | Joyful Captain, The Strongest in History, Jinoo, Shadow Monarch |
Ultimate Fused Warrior is currently the strongest Hybrid, stacking buffs and follow-up attacks alongside an active nuke and a counter-attacking debuff defense. That combination makes it the closest thing to a perfect all-rounder. Moonless Sky, the evolved Ichiko (Rage), out-damages Visionary even without Mugetsu and reaches some of the highest damage numbers in the game once Mugetsu is active, backed by heavy crit damage, follow-up hits, and Confusion for utility.
The Almighty, the evolved The King, is the game’s top DoT damage dealer when you surround it with summoners like Gremmy or Visionary and spam extra units. Visionary (Unrivaled) stays meta by stacking crit for massive clone damage, and it pairs cleanly with The Almighty’s buff mode, which negates the Meteor SPA debuff. Perfect Maximum Bio-Android excels at deleting bosses but swings on its random passives, so treat it as high-ceiling rather than consistent.
Below the very top, Merciless God offers flexible top-path DPS or bottom-path CC support, while Angel Born in Hell (Unrivaled) is the first Hybrid DPS Leader with strong buffs. Blanco Beast performs well in both its base and evolved forms but does not scale with Ruler due to its cheap, high-value placements, so build it around Duelist instead.

Ground DPS units
The Strongest in History (Sukuna) is the strongest non-Synchro unit in the game, thanks to stacking buffs, debuffs, summon attacks, and heavy DoT through its Domain and dual summons at full upgrade. It out-damages King Sailor and Gojo, though it carries less CC than Gojo. Run it with a Ruler trait and the Monarch Set paired with a Sorcerer Hunter Spirit.
| Tier | Ground units |
|---|---|
| S | The Strongest in History, The Strongest of Today, Jinoo, Shadow Monarch, Mimicry Sorcerer (Cursed Love), Shadow Knight (Risen) |
Jinoo, Shadow Monarch is weaker than Sukuna, Gojo, or King Sailor in isolation, but the recent Shadow buffs plus synergy with Igris and Ant King push it firmly into meta territory when you build the full package around it.
Support and Leader picks
Several DPS units double as top-tier Leaders when placed in the first slot, where their buffs apply to the rest of the team. Visionary, Angel Born in Hell, Triple Threat, and Kind Sailor all fill this role while still contributing damage.
Trickster (Phantom) is the best Phantom unit for support duty, combining strong DPS with debuffs and a large team damage increase. It works solo or inside a dedicated Persona team.

Farm units
Bulma is enough for most runs and pairs naturally with DoT stackers like The Almighty. If you are chasing a Synchro Fuse, run both Bulma and Fastcart together to rush the required upgrades faster.
| Situation | Farm setup |
|---|---|
| Standard runs | Bulma only |
| Rushing a Synchro Fuse | Bulma + Fastcart |
With the Bleach wave settling into the roster, the safest long-term investments are the Spider synchros, Ultimate Fused Warrior, and the new Moonless Sky and The Almighty duo. Build them with Ruler or Duelist where noted, keep a farm unit running to fund upgrades, and re-check placements after each balance patch since summon-heavy DoT units tend to shift most between updates.
