WARDOGS: How to Heal a Teammate With a Bandage

Buy a bandage, bind it to a quick slot, and left-click an injured squadmate to top them up for cash and Medic XP.

Healing another player in WARDOGS is not a passive aura or a squad perk. It is a held item, an aimed click, and a payout. The cheapest way in is the bandage, which heals both you and the people standing next to you, and it feeds the Medic progression track every time you use it on someone else.

Quick answer: Buy a Bandage from the equipment vendor, drag it into quick slot 1 in your inventory, select that slot so the bandage is in your hands, then walk up to an injured teammate and left-click. If the on-screen prompt reads TEAMMATE IS FULL HEALTH, nothing is spent and no heal is applied.

What healing a teammate pays in WARDOGS

Cash in WARDOGS carries over between matches and pays for every loadout you buy, and support actions are a legitimate income stream alongside kills. Healing sits in the same reward pool as revives, spotting, transport, repairs, supplies, and building. Topping up a wounded teammate pays close to what a revive pays, which is why experienced medics would rather you stop bandaging yourself and let them do it.

The size of the heal matters to the payout. A teammate who is missing a sliver of health is worth far less than one who has taken a serious hit, so there is no value in spamming bandages on people who are nearly topped up. Healing also builds Medic XP, which unlocks better medical tools and the SMG primaries tied to that track.

Buy a bandage at the equipment vendor

In the safe zone, walk to the equipment vendor tent and press your interact key to open the vendor menu. This is the same menu you use to assemble the rest of your loadout before deploying.

Open the items category in the vendor menu and select the Bandage, tagged as Medical and Quick Slot. It is the cheapest medical purchase available, and the tag tells you exactly where it needs to end up.

Add the bandage to your backpack loadout and confirm the purchase. Buy one before you spend anything on optics or heavier plates, because a medical slot you can actually afford to replace after a death is worth more than an attachment.

Move the bandage to a quick slot

Press Tab to open your inventory. Your character, equipped gear, and storage grid all appear on this screen, and the bandage will be sitting in the backpack where the vendor placed it.

Drag the bandage from the grid into quick slot 1. Any quick slot works, but slot 1 is the fastest to reach mid-fight, and an item left buried in the backpack is an item you will never use under pressure.
Close the inventory and press the matching number key. The bandage appears in your hands in the game view, which is the state you need to be in before a heal will register on anyone.

Apply the bandage to an injured teammate

Walk up to the teammate you want to heal with the bandage held. You need to be close, and you need them in front of you, so this is not something you do across a street.
Left-click. If the teammate is below full health, the bandage is consumed and their health goes up by a small amount. If they are already topped up, the prompt TEAMMATE IS FULL HEALTH appears instead and nothing is used.

Move immediately afterwards. Inside the Hot Zone or any contested angle, throw white smoke onto the wounded player or yourself before you commit, click once, then leave the spot. Standing still after a heal gets both of you killed and turns your payout into someone else’s.

Healing an injured teammate vs reviving a downed one

A bandage cannot stand anyone up. It restores a small amount of health to a player who is still on their feet, and that is the entire limit of what it does. Downed teammates are a separate interaction with separate tools, and pointing a bandage at a body on the ground achieves nothing.

ToolWhat it is for
BandageSmall heal on yourself or a standing teammate; the cheap, always-carried option at 0.08 kg
Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK)The next step up in healing, carried alongside or instead of extra bandages
Medical BagSpecialist-slot healing with real weight behind it
Emergency ResuscitatorFast tempo tool for standing up a downed teammate, not a self-heal
Field ResuscitatorRevive tool worth unlocking early if you plan to main the Medic track
DefibrillatorHeaviest revive commitment, best paired with vehicle inserts rather than long walks

Note: dying costs you your current loadout, so if you go down it is usually cheaper to wait for a revive than to respawn and rebuy. That is also why healing teammates before they hit the floor is worth more to your team than reviving them afterwards.

Why the heal is not registering

  • The bandage is not in your hands. Owning it in the backpack does nothing. It must be assigned to a quick slot and selected before a click will do anything.
  • The teammate is at full health. The TEAMMATE IS FULL HEALTH prompt means the game is blocking the heal, not that your input failed.
  • They are downed, not wounded. Use an Emergency Resuscitator, Field Resuscitator, or Defibrillator for a player who needs standing up.
  • They healed themselves first. Whoever applies the heal collects the reward, so call it out before you close the distance.

Keep the medical kit light enough to reach people

Every item in WARDOGS has weight, and soft medical items add up faster than they look like they should. A bandage at 0.08 kg is never the problem, but stacking a medical bag with Level 3 plates and a heavy primary pushes you into Medium before you have added spare magazines.

Weight tierEffect on you
Lightest / LightBest default for anyone healing on foot; full mobility to reach wounded players
MediumLower top speed, weaker jump, slower stamina regen and slower ADS
HeavyNo tactical sprint
Super HeavyNo sprint at all

Arrival time beats armour when your job is to touch teammates. Stay Light unless you are deliberately running a static aid position behind cover, or you are being dropped in by a Driver or Pilot who removes the walk.

One bandage on a quick slot changes how much every life is worth. You keep bodies inside the Control Zone, where each player inside the Hot Zone counts double and earns double cash, and you bank support income without needing to win a single duel. Buy it before the optic, bind it to slot 1, smoke the angle, click once, and keep moving.
