Where Winds Meet: Mohist Voice Encounter Quest Walkthrough

The Mohist Voice Encounter in Where Winds Meet sends you chasing a “ghost” near Mohist City, only to uncover a disciple trying to revive his grandfather’s Harmony Troupe. Completing it means collecting five distinct sounds with a Voice Box and staging one final performance. The whole quest sits inside the Hidden Mountain Suixiang region.

Quick answer: Trigger the quest in the railway tunnel near Mohist City and read Qin Feng’s “Letter to the Highland Heritage” in your mail. Investigate the noise at night, immobilize Yu Ge with Meridian Touch, then use the Voice Box to record insect chirping, a flute, a sutra debate, the Lumbo labor chant, and Liang Qiqi’s singing. Return the box, travel to Seven-Hued Plain, set the clock to the Wei hour, and begin the performance.

How to start the Mohist Voice Encounter

The quest begins by exploration, not by picking it up from a board. You need to be inside the railway tunnel near Mohist City, then confirm it through your mail. The follow-up investigation only works at night, so be ready to adjust the in-game clock.

Run along the railway track in the cave near Mohist City to trigger the Encounter. Keep moving through the tunnel until the on-screen prompt appears.

Open your mail inbox and read the “Letter to the Highland Heritage” from Qin Feng of the Bureau of Relief. This officially starts the quest.

Open the map and travel toward the quest area near Mohist City, then set the time to night before you drop down the cliffs. The investigation objective only registers after dark, so any hour from Chou onward works.

Approach the house and find the “Ghost” outside it. Use the Meridian Touch skill to immobilize the figure and stop the noise.

Watch the cutscene where the “Ghost” is revealed to be Yu Ge. Talk to him to learn about his grandfather’s legacy and receive the Voice Box quest item.

Record all five sounds with the Voice Box

The core of the quest is gathering five sounds across the region. Each one is tied to a specific location and, in several cases, a short conversation or an item you must hand over first. Open your inventory and activate the Voice Box when you reach the marked source.

Open your inventory, use the Voice Box, and record the insect chirping near Yu Ge’s house. The “Record Insect Chirping” objective clears once the sound is captured.

Speak with Yu Ge again, read the Voice of Mohist journal, and enter the study. Inspect the paper pile, the Faded Letter, and the cat named Mohist inside.

Still in the study, use the Voice Box near the window pipes to record the flute sound. This completes the second recording and picks up the Faded Letter you will need next.

Travel to Confluence Gazebo and speak with Lin Sheng and Jingchun. Submit the Faded Letter, then record the Sound of Sutra Debate from near the platform.

Travel to Deepwave Works and talk to the craftsmen at the dock. Record the Sound of Lumbo, the synchronized lifting chant shouted by the workers.

Travel to the Mountain Verge and speak with Liang Qiqi. Submit Senior Yu’s Lyrics, then record her singing to finish the fifth and final sound.

Return the Voice Box and perform at Seven-Hued Plain

With all five sounds recorded, the quest closes out with a return trip and a timed performance. The final stage only starts during the afternoon, so you must set the clock before talking to Yu Ge on stage.

Fast travel back to Yu Ge at Fallowfields Refuge and hand over the completed Voice Box. He plays back the recordings and sets the gathering at Seven-Hued Plain.

Travel to Seven-Hued Plain and open the in-game clock. Change the time to the afternoon, specifically the Wei hour (13:00–15:00), so the “Perform in the afternoon” objective becomes available.

Talk to Yu Ge at the stone stage in the flower field and select Begin Performance. Watch the Harmony Troupe cutscene play out, then finish the closing dialogue to complete the quest.

Note: If the performance option does not appear, confirm the clock is set to the Wei hour. The final scene will not start outside the afternoon window.
