“Opportunity Knocking” is one of Kabb Uppercut’s personal assignments in Star Wars Zero Company, and it is easy to walk past because it sits on the Holotable map rather than in the Critical mission chain. It is a Choice Operation, so no combat is involved. You spend Intel, commit three operators, and the result plays out immediately.
Quick answer: Open the Holotable in the Den, switch to the OPERATIONS tab, select “OPPORTUNITY KNOCKING” at Dowut in Zone Aurek, pay the 50 Intel cost, assign three operators, and hit CONFIRM OPERATORS.
What you need before launching “Opportunity Knocking”
The operation has hard requirements. If either the Intel or the operator count falls short, the launch button will not resolve, so check both before you head to the Holotable.
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Type | Choice Operation (no tactical combat) |
| Location | Dowut, Zone Aurek |
| Intel cost | 50 |
| Operators | Exactly 3 |
| Tied to | Kabb Uppercut |
| Briefing | Kabb wants help locating a valuable Separatist cache |
Intel is earned by finishing Tactical Missions and by gathering information in the field, so if you are short, run a combat mission first. Note that operations sit on the Holotable for a limited number of Cycles, so an unclaimed assignment can disappear entirely once its window passes.

How to confirm the operation worked
You will see an OPERATION COMPLETE screen almost immediately. The text confirms that Zero Company now has coordinates for Kabb’s Separatist cache and that the cache holds a valuable comm relay chip.

Two rewards are listed on that screen. Both are worth checking before you back out of the Holotable.
| Reward | What it does |
|---|---|
| +3 Influence in Zone Aurek | Counts toward that zone’s Influence thresholds, which unlock Upgrades, Utilities, and Contacts |
| New Tactical Mission on Anaxes | Adds “Buy Cheap, Never Sleep,” Kabb’s follow-up combat mission |
Back out to the Holotable map and you should now see a prompt to launch the mission for Kabb at Anaxes. If it is not there, you either exited before the completion screen resolved or the operation never actually fired.
Why the operation may not launch
There are only a few things that stop this one from going through, and all of them are visible on the Holotable before you commit.
- Under 50 Intel. Complete a Tactical Mission or use scouting tools like the PICO-5 electroscope in the field to top up.
- Fewer than three available operators. Injured, recovering, or already-committed squad members cannot be assigned, so clear the MedBay or recruit for depth first.
- The window closed. Operations expire after their listed time frame. Once the icon leaves the Dowut system, it does not return.
Because this is optional work rather than a Critical mission, it competes with everything else on the Holotable for your Intel and your roster. If you want Kabb’s Anaxes follow-up, “Buy Cheap, Never Sleep,” it is worth spending the 50 Intel while the Dowut icon is still on the map.
