Lightning God is the Secret-rarity unit added alongside the Summer Siege Update 2 in Anime Expeditions, and it is not on any banner. You earn it by clearing a portal you craft yourself, and the only material that portal accepts comes from one place in the entire game.
Quick answer: Farm Rose Kingdom Act 1 Infinite on Hard Mode until a Sky Ruins Portal drops (2.5% per wave, guaranteed at wave 60), upgrade it to Tier 5, clear Tier 5 to collect 4 Charged Dust, then craft and beat Lightning God’s Portal at the lobby crafting altar.
What you need before starting the Lightning God grind
The whole chain rests on a single crafting recipe. Lightning God’s Portal costs 4 Charged Dust, and Charged Dust drops only from the Tier 5 Sky Ruins Portal. Nothing else on the summer event track substitutes for it.
| Requirement | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Sky Ruins Portal (Tier 1) | Rose Kingdom Act 1 Infinite, Hard Mode — 2.5% drop, guaranteed at wave 60 |
| Sky Ruins Portal (Tier 5) | Upgrading lower-tier Sky Ruins Portals through repeated clears |
| 4x Charged Dust | Tier 5 Sky Ruins Portal completion reward |
| Lightning God’s Portal | Crafted at the lobby crafting altar using the 4 Charged Dust |
| Lightning God (unit) | Clearing Lightning God’s Portal on the Ancient Temple map |
Tier 5 Sky Ruins also drops the Storm Trident, the relic that pairs with the unit later. Redeeming the update codes SummerSiege, LightningGod, Update2, and EclipseSoon in the lobby code menu is worth doing first, since reroll and stat materials come in handy at the end of the chain.

Add to Google Preferences →Summer Portals do not work — check the portal name
The most expensive mistake here is grinding the wrong portal. Summer Portals drop from the same event content and look nearly identical in the Items menu under the Portals tab, but they lead to Coral Kingdom instead of the Ancient Temple.

Taking a Summer Portal all the way to Tier 5 produces the Lightning Dagger and Djinn’s Treasure. Both are fine rewards on their own, but neither is Charged Dust, so a full Coral Kingdom climb leaves you no closer to the Secret unit.

Note: read the portal card in the Portal Selection screen before you activate anything. It lists the exact drop table, which is the fastest way to confirm you are holding Sky Ruins and not Summer.
Farming the Sky Ruins Portal in Rose Kingdom Infinite
Upgrading Sky Ruins Portals from Tier 1 to Tier 5
Clearing a Sky Ruins Portal rolls a chance at a higher-tier version of the same portal. Augmenting before a run raises that chance, but even at 40% augmentation the upgrade frequently fails, so expect to repeat Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 clears several times each before Tier 5 lands.

Tier 5 is the difficulty spike. Soloing it is realistic only with a heavily invested roster, and losing the attempt destroys the portal, sending you back to farming Rose Kingdom Infinite for a fresh Tier 1. Bringing two co-op partners is the safer route.

A successful Tier 5 clear awards all 4 Charged Dust at once, so you do not need to repeat it. If the reward screen shows fewer than four, you did not finish the Tier 5 run.
Crafting and clearing Lightning God’s Portal
Tip: lock the unit as soon as it appears in your roster. Secret drops are easy to lose to a mis-click during auto-sell or fodder cleanup.
Rolling the Unbound trait and Z-rank stats
Owning the unit is only half the work. Stat potential is handled at the Stat Potential station, where you lock the ranks you are happy with and keep rerolling the rest until Damage, SPA, and Range all hit Z rank.

Traits are rolled separately at the Trait Reroll station. Unbound is the 0.1% trait everyone chases on Secret units, and the rolls in between will regularly land on Primordial, Limit Breaker, or Forsaken. A pity system exists, so persistent rerolling eventually forces Unbound even without a lucky roll.
| Trait | Roll chance | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Unbound | 0.1% | Massive all-stat boost, removes stat caps |
| Primordial | 0.5% | High damage scaling |
| Forsaken | 1.0% | Attack speed increase |
Evolving into Lightning God (Overcharged)
The evolution needs the Ancient Bell, which is crafted, plus the sprite materials listed in the evolution recipe. Completing it converts the unit into Lightning God (Overcharged) and unlocks the full upgrade path.
From there, equip the Storm Trident from the Armory — its stats can be rerolled like any other relic — and feed EXP items until the unit hits Level 50. A fully built copy with Unbound and SSS stats sits around 5.32K damage, 4.7s SPA, and 21.8 range before in-match upgrades.
In a match the numbers scale hard. Upgrade 9 unlocks Heaven’s Wrath, a full AoE attack, and a maxed placement reaches roughly 28,105 damage with 5s SPA and 32 range. The kit also runs a Voltage Meter that charges as waves pass, alongside Storm Charge, Thundercloud, Tempest Discharge, and a Molten Gold stun.
| Stage | Damage | SPA | Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level 50, Unbound, SSS stats (base) | 5,320 | 4.7s | 21.8 |
| Fully upgraded in-match (Upgrade 9) | 28,105 | 5s | 32 |
The bottleneck in the whole chain is the Tier 5 Sky Ruins clear, not the crafting or the boss fight. If you are stuck, the fastest fix is grouping up rather than augmenting more portals, since a failed solo attempt costs you the portal and sends you back to Rose Kingdom Infinite.
