Two broken machines stand between you and a working survival loop in Breathedge 2. The Kettle Body handles water and the Nutri-Pack-O-Mat handles food, and neither one does anything until you feed it a small pile of scrap. The parts are ordinary — aluminum, wires, electronics, plastic — but they are scattered across debris, sealed containers, and dead household appliances near the station.
Quick answer: Bring 3 Aluminum, 2 Wires, 2 Electronics, and 1 Plastic to the broken kettle and use the Repair prompt to finish “Assemble the kettle,” then bring 3 Aluminum, 2 Wires, 3 Electronics, and 1 Plastic to the Nutri-Pack-O-Mat. The tasks “Craft water” and “Craft food” appear the moment each repair lands.
Materials needed to repair the kettle and Nutri-Pack-O-Mat
Both repairs pull from the same four material types, so it is faster to gather the full amount in one run than to make two trips. The totals below cover both machines.
| Material | Kettle Body | Nutri-Pack-O-Mat | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aluminum | 3 | 3 | 6 |
| Wires | 2 | 2 | 4 |
| Electronics | 2 | 3 | 5 |
| Plastic | 1 | 1 | 2 |
Note: carry weight slows you down on the way back, so grab the exact counts rather than hoarding every deposit you pass.

Each material has one reliable source and one interaction verb attached to it. Look for the highlighted prompt on the object before you commit a tool charge.
| Material | Source | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Aluminum | Aluminum deposit | Drill |
| Wires | Wiring on small electrical devices | Cut |
| Electronics | Televisions, washing machines, wall slots, sealed containers | Break, Grab, or Pull with scissors |
| Plastic | Plastic debris | Break |
Plastic is the easiest of the four. Any loose plastic debris you can hit will drop it, including the junk piled up around the Attendant work area, so you can knock out that requirement while another objective is still on screen.

Electronics take the longest, because they come from several different objects rather than one deposit type. Break a television or a washing machine, pull components out of wall slots, and use scissors on sealed containers marked “DO NOT OPEN” — that container gives up electronics like anything else.
While you are working through the wreckage, duct-taped pipes are worth stripping too. Using Cut on one removes the tape and leaves you with a pipe without duct tape, which is a clean component for later builds rather than a repair part for these two machines.

Why the repair prompt does not appear
There are only a few reasons a repair fails to fire. Rule these out before you go looking for a hidden step.
- You are short on one material. Partial stacks do nothing — the machine takes the full set or nothing at all.
- You are aimed at the wrong part of the object. Both repairs target a specific highlighted piece, the Kettle Body and the Nutri-Pack-O-Mat, not the surrounding frame.
- Your tool is out of charge. Drilling aluminum and cutting wiring both draw from tool charge, and a tool with full durability still stops working at zero charge.
- Your backpack is full, so newly harvested materials never reach your inventory.
Once both tasks flip over, food and water stop being a scavenging problem and become a crafting one. Ice is the input for bottled water, and nutrient minerals feed the food side, so the next run out is about stocking raw supply rather than hunting for parts. Get these two repairs done early and a failed search stops resetting your whole survival loop.
