Smuggler is one of the 38 bronze trophies in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it hinges on a single restricted commodity: silver. Ordinary shopkeepers in Vale Sangora will not touch it, which is why plenty of players finish the campaign with a bag full of silver bars and no idea who buys them.
Quick answer: Sell silver until you have earned a cumulative 1,000 denarii from those sales. Normal merchants refuse silver, so you need a trader who deals in it, and those dealings happen at night.
Smuggler trophy requirements
The counter tracks money earned, not the number of items handed over. A single high-value sale and twenty small ones count exactly the same as long as the denarii add up. Nothing about the trophy is missable or tied to a quest, so it can be finished at any point after the prologue opens up the world.

Vale Sangora’s economy splits along the same day-night line as the rest of the game. Stalls shutter after dark, NPCs go to bed, and a separate set of vendors opens for business. Silver sits outside what a general store, armourer, or medic will handle at any hour, which is what makes the trophy feel like a dead end at first.

There is exactly one silver trader in the game, and that vendor is the whole solution. Vendor availability is flagged on the map with a sun icon for daytime and a half-moon icon for night, so check the icon before you travel across the valley expecting a shop to be open.
How to sell silver for 1,000 denarii

How to confirm the trophy unlocked
Smuggler pops the moment the 1,000th denarius from a silver sale lands. You will see the trophy or achievement notification while the trade screen is still open — there is no delay, no need to close the menu, and no quest step to complete afterwards.
If nothing fires, the cause is almost always one of two things. Either the goods you sold were not silver, or the vendor you used does not buy silver at all and simply took ordinary loot off your hands. Check the sale value in the trade window and keep a running tally if you are unsure how close you are.
Note: The denarii you receive also count toward Miser, the bronze trophy for accumulating 5,000 denarii. Do not spend the silver proceeds immediately if you are still working toward that one.
Do not kill the vendor
With only one silver trader in the game, killing that NPC removes your only route to the trophy on that save. The same caution applies to non-hostile NPCs and quest givers generally — enemies are fair game, everyone else is not. Keep manual saves as you go, since a save made before a mistake is the cleanest way back.
The 30-day story clock does not threaten this trophy either. Side content stays available after the deadline passes, so silver you never got around to selling is still sellable in cleanup.
Smuggler is one of the least demanding entries on a 47-trophy list that runs to 1 platinum, 3 gold, 5 silver, and 38 bronze. Bank your silver as you explore, make one night-time trip to the trader, and it clears itself alongside the money-hoarding trophies you are probably chasing anyway.
