The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Climb the Market Tower in Schoenau City

Track the tower from the map, reach the rooftop at night, and reveal new points of interest across Schoenau.

Track the tower from the map, reach the rooftop at night, and reveal new points of interest across Schoenau.

The Market Tower is the scouting point that sits inside Schoenau City, and it is the fastest way to fill in the surrounding map with question mark icons. Its map entry spells out the purpose plainly: “A good place to scout the area and add new places of interest to the map.”

Quick answer: Open the Map, select the white tower icon in Schoenau City and press TRACK, follow the marker to the building, climb the wooden scaffolding and ladders to the roof, then mark a few distant points during the scouting sequence. The Market Tower is Tower #5 of the 11 towers in the game.

Market Tower location in Schoenau City

Towers are shown on the world map with a white tower icon, and the Market Tower sits in the middle of Schoenau City, near the other Schoenau landmarks such as Schoenau Castle. Opening the Map tab and hovering the icon brings up its name and description, along with the TRACK option that pins it to your compass.

Go at night. Coen’s vampiric skills only come out after dark, and Shadowstep lets you teleport straight up walls by holding R2/RT instead of hunting for a ladder. The Shapeshift skill from the same Vampirism tree also cuts down the travel time between towers.

How to climb the Market Tower

Open the Map from the menu and pan across to Schoenau City. Select the Market Tower icon and press TRACK so the objective stays on your compass while you move through the streets.
Head into the city on foot and follow the tracked marker. The route runs through narrow streets, so keep checking the compass rather than trying to cut straight across the rooftops from ground level.
At the base of the building, find the wooden scaffolding. That framework is the intended climbing route, and it links into a set of ladders that carries you up the side of the structure.
Work your way up the ladders and across the roof until Coen reaches the top platform. If you are playing at night, hold R2/RT to Shadowstep up sections of wall and skip most of the manual climbing.

How to scout and reveal new map icons

Reaching the roof does not finish the tower on its own. The game hands you a scouting view of the surrounding landscape, and you have to actively pick out points in the distance for anything to be added to the map.

Trigger the scouting sequence at the top of the tower. Coen looks out over Schoenau and the camera settles into the survey view.
Aim at a landmark in the distance and confirm it. Each confirmed point drops a new question mark icon onto the world map.

Repeat for the remaining points until the survey runs out of valid targets. Anything flagged as out of range will not register, so pan across to a closer landmark instead of forcing the shot.
Let the closing cinematic play out. You can press SKIP at any point, but the map only updates once the sequence has finished.

How to confirm the Market Tower is done

Open the Map immediately after the cutscene. New question mark icons will have appeared across the area around your Current Position, and the tower itself can be removed from tracking with UNTRACK. If the map looks unchanged, the scouting step was never completed and you can return to the roof to redo it.

Note: the L3 button toggles the map legend and R3 hides completed entries, which makes it easier to see what is genuinely new versus what you have already cleared.

All 11 tower locations and the Bird’s-Eye View trophy

There are 11 towers in total. Climbing every one and scouting from the top unlocks the Bird’s-Eye View trophy and achievement. Because each tower populates the map with the open-world locations and collectibles around it, doing them early saves a lot of blind wandering later.

Time is the real cost here. The main quest runs on a countdown to rescue Coen’s family, and every task you take on pushes the clock forward, so it is worth clearing the Market Tower on a night when you are already in Schoenau for something else, such as investigating the outposts of Ambrus’s soldiers.
