Fisch Skycrest: Full Guide to Complete the Amanojaku Idol Quest

All five Amanojaku trials, the rods, baits and totems that clear them fastest, and the Pester Charm reward.

The Amanojaku Idol is one of seven Ancient Idols standing on Skycrest Island, and it hands out the most combat-flavored set of trials in the group. Every objective revolves around hunts, Disturbance and slashing, which means the fastest route through it is a gear problem rather than a grinding problem. Bring the right rod, bait and totem to each trial and the whole set closes in a single session.

Quick answer: Finish all five Amanojaku trials — catch 10 fish at an active hunt, slash a fish 100 times, summon one hunt via Disturbance, directly catch 15 fish with at least 10 Disturbance, and catch 5 hunt fish within 10 minutes — and the idol grants the Pester Charm.

What the Amanojaku Idol gives you

Clearing the full set unlocks the Pester Charm, which raises the XP and C$ you earn while fishing. It slots into the same charm pool as Relaxation, Brawn, Rush, Fortune and Endurance, so finishing Amanojaku moves you one step closer to owning the whole collection.

There is a second payoff. Ryusel, the NPC on the left side of Skycrest Island, only grants a wish for a vaulted limited rod after you complete five trials from any single Ancient Idol. Amanojaku counts for that requirement, so the same run that earns the Pester Charm also unlocks the wish.

Note: Amanojaku’s trials are the hunt-heavy set. If your only goal is the wish and you have no hunt totems banked, Nagomi’s trials are the gentler path.

Gear to bring before you start

Three of the five trials are gated behind specific rod stats, so gather these first. Trying to brute-force them with a general-purpose rod is the main reason players stall.

Accepting the trials at the Amanojaku Idol

Reach Skycrest Island. From Moosewood, take the clam teleporter next to the leaderboard to the Fischfest island, spawn a boat with the Shipwright, and head out until you spot the huge floating island with the vertical waterfall pouring off it.
Swim up through the waterfall to surface on the island itself. Everything from here on happens on Skycrest, so drop a boat or set your spawn nearby if you plan to leave and return between trials.
Walk up to the Amanojaku statue and interact with the glowing marker on it to open the trial list. All five objectives track at the same time, so you can start whichever one your current gear supports.

Trial 1: Catch 10 fish at any active hunt

Place any hunt totem you own — a Kraken or Megalodon totem both work — and fish while the hunt is live. The counter only moves during the active hunt window, so cast immediately after the totem triggers instead of setting up gear afterwards. Ten catches inside one hunt is comfortable if you keep your line in the water.

Trial 2: Slash a fish 100 times

Equip the Castbound rod. Its piercing effect applies slash hits automatically while you fight a fish, so the counter climbs on its own rather than requiring any extra input from you. Hook something with enough health to survive a long fight and let the effect tick, and 100 slashes accumulate across a handful of catches.

Trial 3: Summon 1 Hunt via Disturbance

This one needs a rod carrying high Disturbance or the Hunt Focus stat. Plaguereaver, Eidolon and Dreambreaker all qualify, and Toxic Grove is another option in the same category. Fish at a location where hunts actually spawn — Disturbance builds as you catch, and once it crosses the threshold the hunt triggers on its own.

Tip: a hunt summoned here can be rolled straight into Trial 1, since the objective only asks for an active hunt and does not care whether a totem started it.

Trial 4: Directly catch 15 fish with at least 10 Disturbance

Your rod’s total Disturbance must sit at 10 or higher when the catch registers, and the catches have to be direct rather than passive. The Igneous Rupturer clears the requirement on its own. If your rod falls short, enchants, effects and baits can push the number up — Fischpedia lists which of those stack into the Disturbance total.

Check the stat on the rod before you commit to a long fishing run. Fifteen catches made below the threshold do not count for anything, and there is no partial credit.

Trial 5: Catch 5 hunt fish in 10 minutes

The timer is the difficulty here, not the fish. Drop a Megalodon totem and equip Tryhard Worm Bait, which pulls Megalodons in fast enough to stack five hunt catches well inside the window. Have the bait already equipped before the totem goes down so you are not burning a minute on inventory management.

Confirming the trials completed

Reopen the Amanojaku Idol panel after each trial. Finished objectives clear from the list, and once all five are gone the idol grants the Pester Charm, which then appears in your charm list alongside Relaxation, Brawn, Rush, Fortune and Endurance.

If a trial refuses to tick over, the cause is almost always one of three things. The hunt was not active when you landed the catch, your rod’s Disturbance was under 10, or the rod lacks the slash and Hunt Focus properties the objective checks for. Swap to the listed rod and the counter starts moving.

With the charm in hand, head to Ryusel on the left side of the island and tell him you are ready. He shows a list of vaulted limited rods you do not already own, and picking one starts that rod’s quest rather than dropping it into your inventory — the wish opens the door, and the quest is still yours to finish.
