The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Find Your Way Inside the Warehouse

The exact climb-in point for the Where Loyalty Lies objective in Svartrau City, plus what happens after you drop inside.

The exact climb-in point for the Where Loyalty Lies objective in Svartrau City, plus what happens after you drop inside.

The blood trail in Where Loyalty Lies ends at a warehouse door that will not open, and there is no key to find. The objective “Find your way inside the warehouse” expects you to go over the wall instead, which is easy to miss in the dark if you keep circling the front entrance.

Quick answer: Ignore the locked front door. Move around to the side of the warehouse, climb onto the cart and stacked crates against the wall, and drop in through the gap in the thatched roof.

What has to be done before the warehouse objective appears

The warehouse only becomes a marker once Where Loyalty Lies is running. Coen picks the quest up after joining the manumits, which is gated behind your infamy level rather than a specific story beat.

Follow the blood trail to the warehouse

The search for the missing scout starts at the house with the pink facade in Neustadt. Head to the southeast part of Svartrau City and look at the ground there for the first blood marks.

Use Focus Mode to pick out the blood marks. The splashes are faint in normal view, and Focus Mode highlights the next one so you do not lose the thread between buildings.
Track the trail north through the city. It runs past the built-up area and points you out of Svartrau City entirely.
Leave through the western pathway and inspect the broken cart lying on the ground. That inspection keeps the trail alive and sends you further west.
Continue west into the next village. The blood ends at a warehouse at the far end of it, and the objective in your journal switches to finding a way inside.

The exact way inside the warehouse

The main door is locked for good. There is no key, no lockpick prompt and no alternate ground-floor entrance, so every attempt at the front is wasted time.

Walk up to the front door once to confirm it is sealed, then leave it alone. The route in is on the side of the building, not the face of it.

Circle the warehouse until you find the cart and the wooden crates pushed up against the wall. That stack is the only climbable surface on the building.
Jump onto the cart, then onto the crates, and scale the wall from there. At night the Shadowstep ability makes this climb faster, since it lets you get up walls and buildings without hunting for footholds.
Move to the gap in the thatched roof and drop through it. Coen lands inside the warehouse and starts commenting on the bodies, which confirms the objective has advanced.

Inspect the bodies and loot the warehouse

The interior is very dark, and the objects you need are easy to walk past. Turn on Focus Mode again as soon as you land so the interactive points light up.

Inspect the corpses scattered across the floor, including the decapitated one. These inspections are what push the quest forward, not simply standing in the room.

The containers here are worth opening before you move on. The Warehouse Stock caches hold consumables such as Potent Vitality Balm, and nothing about looting them affects the quest outcome.

How the objective ends: The dying man and the ambush

Once the bodies inside have been inspected, leave through the door at the back of the warehouse. Outside you find a man who is still alive but badly wounded.

Speak to him and work through the dialogue options. Shortly after the conversation, three enemies attack. Kill all three and Where Loyalty Lies is finished.

You will know it worked when What Hunt the Night appears in the journal, with “report back to Crake” as its opening objective. If that quest has not started, the fight outside the back door has not been resolved yet.

Common reasons the warehouse objective stalls

  • You are still testing the front door. It has no unlock state during this objective, so the roof gap is the intended and only entry.
  • You lost the blood trail. Without Focus Mode the marks are hard to see, and skipping the broken cart on the western path leaves you circling the wrong area.
  • The bodies inside were not inspected. Dropping in is not enough on its own. The scene has to be examined before the back door leads anywhere useful.
  • The quest never started. The Plaza cutscene with Sara requires Notorious infamy and a daytime visit to Svartrau City.

Handled in one pass, the whole detour is short. Track the blood west, climb the crates, drop through the roof and read the room, then deal with the ambush waiting behind the back door before heading back to Crake.
