Spoiled Mortuary is one of the smaller dungeons in Mortal Shell 2, tucked into the Ruins of Mammon. It has no boss, no puzzle, and only two enemies, but it is easy to leave half-finished because one of its two rewards sits behind a wall that looks solid.
Quick answer: Head northeast of the Revered Beacon, drop into the square opening in the ground, ride the elevator down, kill both Ravenous Flesh mimics, loot the sarcophagus for a Coin of Mammon, then strike the wall to the left of it to reveal a Dorsalite.
Spoiled Mortuary location in the Ruins of Mammon
The dungeon sits northeast of the Revered Beacon. From the beacon, follow the path toward the ruined structure and walk past the stone steps that climb its exterior rather than going up them. The entrance is not a doorway. It is a square opening in the ground, close to where the water pools, and the icon only appears on your map once you have been through the fog gate for that part of the world.

Fast travel to the closest cleansed beacon and run the rest on foot. The approach crosses open, rocky ground with roaming enemies that are safe to sprint past, since none of them are needed for completion.

The exterior stone steps are your landmark. Once you can see them running up the side of the structure, you are within a few seconds of the entrance shaft.

Both Ravenous Flesh ambushes
The only enemies here are two Ravenous Flesh, mimics that sit still while disguised as coffins. They do not patrol, so both are avoidable if you know where they are.
The first triggers as you drop into the candlelit corridor right after the elevator, near the start of the dungeon. The second waits by the chest in the larger stone chamber and lunges out of the doorway as you approach, which is the one most likely to catch you mid-loot.

Note: clear the second mimic before opening anything. The chamber is cramped, and getting grabbed while the loot prompt is open is the most common way to die down here.
The chest and the hidden wall
The dungeon’s single chest is the stone sarcophagus in the main chamber. Opening it hands over a Coin of Mammon along with Gleam.
Now turn to the wall on the left of the chest and hit it. It is an illusory wall, and one attack collapses it to expose a small alcove with an altar holding a Dorsalite. This is the piece almost everyone misses, since nothing about the wall reads as breakable from the outside.
Everything else in the chamber is scenery. The stacked wooden coffins and rubble piled along the walls hold nothing, so there is no reason to climb them once the alcove is open.
| Contents | Where |
|---|---|
| Ravenous Flesh (x2) | Entry corridor, then beside the chest |
| Coin of Mammon + Gleam | Stone sarcophagus in the main chamber |
| Dorsalite | Altar behind the wall left of the chest |
| Hidden wall (x1) | Left side of the chest chamber |
How to confirm you have 100% cleared it
You are done when two enemies are dead, the sarcophagus is empty, and the alcove to its left is open with the altar looted. That accounts for the one chest, two enemies, two forge materials, and the single hidden wall the layout contains. Head back through the halls, ride the wooden lift up, and climb the last set of steps to reach daylight.
The game does not tick dungeons off for you. To keep track, open the map, hover the cursor over the Spoiled Mortuary icon, and press the right stick to switch the icon to its completed state.

Nothing in the mortuary is missable. If you skip it now, the entrance stays open after the final boss during free roam, so you can return for the Dorsalite before starting New Game Plus.
