The Prologue of Halloween: The Game drops you into Smith’s Grove as a sedated Michael Myers, and its second optional challenge is the most straightforward of the six. Challenge 2 reads: “Grab and Execute 3 Orderlies with bare hands.” No environmental setup, no specific location, no stealth requirement. You just need three clean grabs and three finished executions before you leave the sanitarium.
Quick answer: Grab three separate orderlies with [F] (or the prompted controller button), then hold the right mouse button and input the four-number sequence exactly as it appears on screen. Use the plain bare-hand execution rather than dragging targets to a wall or railing, and finish the Prologue afterward so the progress saves.
Challenge 2 requirements in the Smith’s Grove Prologue
The condition is a simple counter. Three orderlies, three bare-hand kills, one run. There is no timer, and alerting the grounds does not fail it, which is why this challenge sits comfortably alongside the combat-heavy objectives instead of the no-alert one.
| Detail | What applies |
|---|---|
| Chapter | Prologue — Escape From Smith’s Grove |
| Objective text | Grab and Execute 3 Orderlies with bare hands |
| Grab input | [F] on PC, or the button shown in the on-screen prompt |
| Execution input | Hold right mouse button, then enter the displayed number sequence |
| Alerts allowed | Yes — stealth is only required for Challenge 5 |
| Progress saves | Only after you complete the Prologue |
Twelve orderlies exist across Smith’s Grove, so target supply is not the problem. Spending them badly is. Challenges 3 and 4 both need a living orderly delivered to a specific spot near the power box, and if you burn every nearby NPC on ordinary kills you will be walking the grounds looking for a replacement.

Tip: pressing the left mouse button at the right moment during the hold extends how long you keep control of the victim. That timing window is what Challenge 1 abuses in reverse — letting the orderly break loose and flee — so here you want to hit it, not miss it.
Finishing the bare-hand execution

Where to find three orderlies early in the run
The opening stretch is the cheapest place to bank all three. The first scripted target appears during the “Kill or Terrify the Orderly” objective, right after the tutorial pop-ups. A second one waits just to the right once the objective changes to finding the lower gate, and more are spread along the path down as you follow the route.

Clear the three early and then stop using bare-hand finishers. From that point on, every orderly you meet is worth more alive: one gets carried to the telephone pole beside the power box for Challenge 3, and another gets thrown over the railing on the opposite side for Challenge 4.
How to confirm Challenge 2 completed
A “CHALLENGE 2 COMPLETE” banner appears on screen the moment the third bare-hand execution resolves. That is the confirmation — there is no menu you need to check mid-run.

The banner is not the end of the job. Challenge progress only sticks once you finish the Prologue, so keep playing through the power box, pry open the gate, and reach the back of the station wagon unnoticed to close the chapter. Quitting or restarting after the banner throws the work away.
Why the execution count stops advancing
| What you see | What went wrong |
|---|---|
| “ORDERLY ESCAPED” | The grab broke before the execution started, or you missed the timing press. The target counts as fled, not killed. |
| Execution animation cancels | The number sequence was entered out of order. Read the full prompt before your first input. |
| Kill lands but the counter stays put | The finisher used a wall, railing, or other prop. Only the plain bare-hand execution is the safe option here. |
| No targets left nearby | Early orderlies were spent, or the route moved past them. The grounds hold twelve in total, but backtracking costs time. |
| Banner appeared, progress missing | The run ended before the Prologue was completed. |
If an orderly slips away mid-grab, do not chase him for this challenge — grab the next one instead and keep the count moving. Three finishers is a small ask on a map with a dozen patrolling targets, and the only real way to lose the challenge is to leave Smith’s Grove before the chapter wraps up.
