Star Wars Zero Company Update 1.1 Weapon Damage Fixes and Overwatch Changes

Four attacks were calculating damage incorrectly, and the patch also makes a displayed 100% hit chance guaranteed.

Update 1.1 for Star Wars Zero Company arrived on September 9, 2026, and it is a correction patch rather than a content drop. Bit Reactor’s first major post-launch update rewrites how several attacks calculate damage, tightens Overwatch, restores lost Beskar Mode saves, and closes the long-running bug where a shot listed at 100% could still whiff. If you have been building squads around numbers you saw before the patch, some of those numbers have moved.

Quick answer: Four attacks were doing the wrong damage. Scattergun tiers 2 through 4 and the DC-17m Anti-Armor shot were dealing less than intended and have been buffed, while Ion Blasters and Tel-Rea Vokoss’ Force attacks were inflating their output and have been brought back down.

Weapon damage corrections in Update 1.1

Each of these was a math error, not a balance pass. The developers did not retune weapon design; they made the weapons behave the way their stat sheets already claimed.

Weapon or attackThe bugResult after the fix
Scattergun, tiers 2–4Used tier 1 damage valuesBuffed — upgraded Scatterguns finally hit for their own tier
Ion BlasterDoubled its Critical DamageNerfed — crits now land at intended values
DC-17m Anti-Armor shotBase damage blocked Critical Hits and grenade damage bonusesBuffed — it can crit and now receives grenade bonuses
Tel-Rea’s Force attacksApplied the Ranged Damage Cross Training bonus twice, skipped Critical Damage bonuses, and showed wrong UI numbersMixed — less ranged bonus, working crit bonuses, accurate displayed damage

The Scattergun change is the one most likely to alter a loadout. Higher-tier Scatterguns were quietly performing like the starter version, which made spending resources on them look pointless. That is no longer true, and the weapon stats you read on the Personnel screen now reflect what the shot will actually do.

The Ion Blaster nerf works the other way. It remains a sensible pick against droid-heavy Separatist forces, but the enormous critical hits players were seeing came from the doubling bug, so expect smaller numbers on the same shot.

A 100% chance to hit is now guaranteed

The headline tactical fix is short. Shots displayed at 100% Chance-To-Hit could still miss because of a calculation bug, and they no longer can. Everything you do to reach that number stays the same, including positioning, cover, flanking and squad order. The difference is that the game now honors the figure printed above the target.

Cone-based attacks got attention too. Targeting cones no longer snap unnaturally on mouse and keyboard, and Rocket Strike and the DC-17m Anti-Armor shot are easier to aim. Enemies standing outside Sweeping Salvo’s cone are also no longer caught by it.

What changed for Tel-Rea Vokoss

Tel-Rea takes the most complicated hit of the patch. Her Force attacks were applying the Ranged Damage Cross Training bonus twice instead of once, so if your build leaned on that bonus, her Force damage will drop. In exchange, those same attacks now correctly add Critical Damage bonuses, which they previously ignored.

The displayed damage values were wrong as well whenever bonuses were involved, so the tooltip and the actual hit are finally in agreement. Builds anchored on Harmony, Shockwave and Lightsaber Throw still work; only some pre-patch numbers stop matching.

Her hero mission also behaves differently. The final battle no longer ends early when the remaining survival turns reach 1, and instead resolves as a success at the end of the final enemy turn. The last opponent in that fight now properly retargets whoever hit her or Rallied her while she was in danger.

Overwatch behaves more predictably

Overwatch received a cluster of fixes that all pull in the same direction, which is making reaction fire obey line of sight and the cone you drew. Enemies triggering Overwatch against attackers could previously shoot through solid objects at Operators they could not see. That is gone.

  • Overwatch no longer triggers on units standing outside the targeting cone in the cases that were reported.
  • Various Overwatch bugs that caused enemies and Operators to be attacked unintentionally have been corrected.
  • A turn-order problem that let the Coil Captain heal a target Overwatch had already killed is fixed.

The practical advice has not changed. Cover the route an enemy has to take rather than where it currently stands, and prefer narrow lanes. The system simply follows those plans more reliably now.

Bacta Tank limit and Secondary Specialization fixes

Between missions, the biggest change is a nerf. The Medbay Bacta Tank could be used more than once per cycle, and it now respects its intended one-use-per-cycle limit. If you were healing multiple Operators through it each cycle, injury management gets stricter.

Secondary Specializations got the opposite treatment. They were failing to add the Specialization’s passive Cross Trainings to the selection pool at Relationship level +8, and they were not counting when the game tested Specialization-specific requirements and results during Operations. Both now work, which makes a second class meaningfully more valuable over a long campaign.

A few smaller strategy-layer irritations are also resolved, including a rare softlock in the Medbay tutorial, an extra autosave generated when loading a save, and a progression block when moving in and out of the Squad selection menu with inspection mode open.

Beskar Mode saves and save corruption

Beskar saves were being temporarily deleted, which is about the worst outcome possible in an Ironman-style mode. Those saves are addressed in this update, along with a crash specific to Beskar Mode. Separately, save corruption that could occur on a sudden or forced game shutdown has been fixed.

Two other data problems are also gone. Interacting with the Databank while the game was saving could corrupt characters, and editing one Operator’s name could rename another, producing duplicate names and broken customization. Players missing preorder or Deluxe Edition items should receive them now.

PC framerate fix for GTX 10-series and RTX 20-series cards

Alongside the patch, the developers issued a specific recommendation for older NVIDIA hardware that meets Minimum Specification. Those architectures take on extra rendering overhead when processing complex environmental detail, and turning one setting off can stabilize framerates.

Open Options from the menu and select the Graphics tab.
Scroll to the Environment Geometry Detail option.
Set Environment Geometry Detail to Off. Lowering that geometry workload is what produces the framerate improvement on these GPUs.

Note: minimum suggested driver versions were raised to the current Game Ready releases for NVIDIA and AMD, and the in-game prompt now says outright that you need to update your driver. If you are still seeing stutter after the patch, check your driver version before touching settings.

What Update 1.1 does not include

There is no new content here. No new characters, no new missions, no new systems. The Feature Updates section is limited to three small quality-of-life items, namely being able to close the Weapon Mods tutorial with the back option, upgrade cancellations properly showing that multi-cycle progress has been reset, and the Tel-Rea hero mission ending correctly.

You will know the update applied when a 100% shot stops missing and Tel-Rea’s Force attack tooltips match the damage dealt. If your Scattergun-carrying Operators suddenly hit harder without any change to their gear, that is the tier fix landing rather than anything you did.
