Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort went live on September 10, 2026 alongside the Version 1.10 update for Borderlands 4, and it does not drop you into the jungle automatically. The campaign has a fixed entry point on Kairos, and returning players who last touched the game months ago tend to bounce around Sanctuary looking for it. Here is exactly where the trigger sits and what has to be true before it shows up.

Quick answer: Travel to Bones of Sanctuary in Heart of the Mountain (Terminus Range), interact with the FL4K broadcast terminal to accept the “FL4K and the Last Resort” mission, then head inside Sanctuary and use the door marked for Providence Island.

What you need before the DLC start marker appears

Story Pack 2 ships in two separately purchasable parts, and only one of them unlocks the campaign. Buying Loveless the Hacker on her own gets you the Vault Hunter, not Providence Island.

Start FL4K and the Last Resort with an existing Vault Hunter

This is the route for anyone carrying over a character from the base campaign, including a Loveless created at Level 30. The whole sequence takes about a minute once you know where to stand.

Open your map, zoom into Heart of the Mountain in the Terminus Range, and select the Bones of Sanctuary fast travel point. The DLC activity marker for FL4K and the Last Resort sits here and is flagged as a DLC Start.

After you spawn in, walk toward the marked area of the snowy outpost. FL4K starts speaking over the radio as you approach, and a lit green beacon terminal stands beside a ruined structure.

Interact with the terminal to bring up the mission prompt, then choose Accept & Track. The quest log now lists FL4K and the Last Resort as your active objective.

Turn around, run up the ramp into Sanctuary, and follow the corridor to the transition door tagged for Providence Island. Hold the Use prompt when it lights up.

Once the transition finishes, turn the green valve wheel in the center of the pod to open it. You step out into the Vinechoked Canopy, the first area of Providence Island.

Start a new Vault Hunter at Level 13 and skip the campaign

If you would rather not replay four story missions, the New Game menu lets you drop a fresh character directly into DLC content. This is also the fastest way to try Loveless the Hacker on Providence Island.

From the main menu, pick New Game instead of loading an existing save.
Choose the option to begin in DLC content. Selecting it locks your Vault Hunter’s starting level at 13. The other choice on this screen is New Game – Ultimate Vault Hunter, which creates a higher-level character instead.
Turn on Shared Progression so the new character inherits your account-wide unlocks.
Select Loveless, or any other Vault Hunter you own, and confirm. You still finish the run at Bones of Sanctuary using the terminal and Providence door described above.

Note: Loveless is a paid add-on that is sold apart from the Story Pack 2 campaign. Owning her does not put Providence Island in your game, and owning the story content does not add her to the character select screen.

How to confirm the DLC actually started

Three things tell you it worked. The mission FL4K and the Last Resort appears in your active quest list after you use the terminal, the door inside Sanctuary reads as a Providence Island destination rather than a normal exit, and the loading transition puts you in a pod with an on-screen objective to exit it. Once the valve turns and you walk into the Vinechoked Canopy, you are in the new region and the story campaign is running.

If the FL4K quest marker is missing

The marker at Bones of Sanctuary only exists when the game can see the content and the character qualifies for it. Work through these in order.

  • Version 1.10 is not installed. The Story Pack, Loveless, and Bounty Pack 5 all arrived with that update. Check for a game update before anything else.
  • You have not finished “A Lot to Process.” The DLC entry unlocks after that fourth main story mission on an existing character.
  • You only own the Loveless portion. The Vault Hunter and the campaign are billed separately, so the region will not appear without the story half.
  • The download is incomplete on console. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S owners of Story Pack 1 or Bounty Pack 2 now need to grab those pieces from their individual storefront listings, and a partially installed DLC library can leave content unavailable in game.

Level cap and loot waiting on Providence Island

Version 1.10 raised the maximum player level by 10, taking the cap to 70 for everyone, including players who never buy the Story Pack. That headroom matters on Providence, where Tediore has occupied a resort island to strip its Ordonite, run by five elite managers under Lieutenant Harmony.

The island also introduces ziplines you grapple onto for vertical traversal above the canopy, plus digiverse uploads where you fight Tediore forces on their own servers before they digistruct into the world. The volcano at the center is still active and periodically throws Ordonite-infused molten rock that spawns minibosses on impact.

Once you are through the pod door, the campaign takes over and FL4K joins you for specific missions in the hunt for Mr. Chew. Everything from that point is standard Vault Hunter business, so the only real hurdle is remembering that the entrance is buried in a snowfield on the other side of Kairos rather than anywhere near the jungle it leads to.
