The Dinosaur Egg arrived with the Jurassic Update in Grow a Chicken Fighter, and it hatches the game’s new prehistoric chickens. There is no chicken that lays it for you, so it comes from event progression rather than the normal breeding loop.
Quick answer: Reach every tenth tier of the Jurassic Battle Pass for a guaranteed Dinosaur Egg, or spend 125 Amber Shards on an Amber Relic Crate for roughly a 2.4% chance to pull one.

Guaranteed Dinosaur Eggs from the Jurassic Battle Pass
The Jurassic Battle Pass is the reliable route because it does not depend on luck. You earn Pass XP by completing Hourly and Daily quests, and that XP pushes you up the tier track. Quests are straightforward tasks such as playing for a set time, hatching eggs, collecting eggs from the Incubator, leveling chickens, and clearing floors in Tower mode.
Both the Free and Premium tracks hand you 1x Dinosaur Egg at every tenth tier. That means your first egg lands at Tier 10, the next at Tier 20, and so on up the 100-tier pass. Alongside the eggs you collect Money, Money Boost, Hatch Luck Boost, Corn Boost, Amber Shards, and Charm Dust.
The Premium track costs 35 Robux and unlocks the paid rewards on the same tiers. To view your progress, open the Pass menu on the right side of the screen and switch to the Quests tab to see what is available.
The Jurassic Battle Pass ends on 25 September, 2026, so any tier eggs you are chasing need to be claimed before the pass closes.

The second route is the Amber Relic Crate, the Jurassic event gacha. You open it from Pass > Crate, and each spin costs 125 Amber Shards or 19 Robux. There is no pity system, so a Dinosaur Egg is never guaranteed no matter how many times you spin. The practical approach is to stockpile Amber Shards and roll as often as you can.
Here is what the crate can drop and how often:
| Reward | Drop rate | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Gold Coins | 47.5% | 6.1M Gold Coins |
| Charm Dust | 25% | 250 Charm Dust |
| Fortune Egg | 25% | 4x Fortune Chickens |
| Dinosaur Egg | 2.4% | 5x Jurassic Chickens |
| Jurassic Pack | 0.1% | 10x Dinosaur Eggs, 1x Dinochicken, 10K Charm Dust |
The Dinosaur Egg sits as the second-rarest single reward at about a 2.4% chance, so expect to spend a large pile of Amber Shards before one appears.

How to farm Amber Shards
Amber Shards fuel every crate spin, and there are three ways to build a stack:
- Jurassic Battle Pass tier rewards, with several tiers granting shards and the amount rising as you climb.
- The Ancient Egg event, which pays out shards for every egg you deliver.
- Redeeming active Grow a Chicken Fighter codes.
Working the Ancient Egg event
The Ancient Egg is a pit event that has a chance to spawn roughly every seven minutes, and it stays active for three minutes once triggered. During the event a large egg sits at the center of the Chaos pit while small sand and green eggs spawn across the map.
Your job is to grab those scattered eggs and carry them to the big egg. Every egg you feed in grows the Ancient Egg, which can advance through 10 tiers. Each tier pays out items like Cash, Charm Dust, boosts, and eggs, and every delivery also drops Charm Dust and Amber Shards. Because the timer is tight, start hauling eggs the moment the event begins.

What hatches from the Dinosaur Egg
Once you have an egg, hatching it can produce prehistoric chickens spanning Rare through Secret rarity. The confirmed hatch pool and its odds are below.
| Chicken | Rarity | Drop rate |
|---|---|---|
| Raptor Chick | Rare | 52% |
| Tricera Chick | Epic | 30% |
| Stego Rooster | Legendary | 15% |
| Rex Rooster | Cosmic | 2.5% |
| Primeval Chicken | Secret | 0.5% |
The Primeval Chicken is the Secret chicken added with the Jurassic Update, so reaching it means hatching a lot of eggs against that 0.5% chance. Each hatch also carries a separate 0.5% chance to roll the rare Jurassic Mutation and the same 0.5% for the Inverted Mutation. The Jurassic Mutation applies +13.5% HP, +13.5% ATK, +10% SPD, and +10% PWR to the affected chicken, which makes Hatch Luck boosts worthwhile if the mutation is your target.

Confirming you have the egg
A claimed Dinosaur Egg appears in your egg inventory ready to hatch, whether it came from a Battle Pass tier or a crate pull. If you are farming for the mutation or the Secret chicken, activate a Hatch Luck boost only after the eggs are in hand so none of the timer is wasted collecting shards. The efficient plan is simple: bank Amber Shards, secure the every-tenth-tier pass eggs, then hatch in batches so the rare results get as many chances as possible before the pass window closes.
