Your Aniimo’s HP does not refill on its own. Once a creature takes damage in a fight, that health stays gone until you actively restore it, which becomes a real problem as tougher monsters and boss encounters pile on pressure. Idyll gives you several dependable ways to top your team back up, and the right one depends on where you are and what you are doing.
Quick answer: Recover HP by activating a Bloom in the field, resting at a Bonfire, visiting a healer at an outpost for a free full heal, using the protagonist’s Heal skill, or bringing a Heal-type Aniimo.

Activate Blooms to recover HP in the open world
Blooms are the most common way to heal while exploring. They are points of interest scattered across the sandbox regions of the map, working much like a checkpoint you can rest at. Walk up to one and interact with it to switch it on.
Once active, a Bloom slowly regenerates your Aniimo’s HP as long as you stay near it. That makes it ideal for patching up between wild encounters, but it comes with a clear limit. Blooms are not available where you often need healing most, such as during boss fights or deep inside dungeons.

When you want a complete refill rather than a slow trickle, head back to safety. Visiting a healer at an outpost fully restores both the Pathfinder and the entire party, and it costs nothing to do.
- Talk to the healer at an outpost to fully heal yourself and your whole party at no cost.
- Rest at a Bonfire to recover HP for both the Pathfinder and your Aniimo.
Both options are best used before you set out on a long trip or after a rough fight, since they reset your team to full without spending any resources.

Unlock and use the Heal active skill
The Heal skill is a character ability you control directly, which makes it the go-to option when no Blooms are nearby and you are steering the Pathfinder instead of Twining with a pet. Your character sprinkles healing dust on the engaged Aniimo to restore its HP.
Heal becomes available once you reach the Student 1 character title. You raise your character level by completing Elite Training course missions, so work through those to unlock it. After that, you can trigger Heal while exploring to mend a targeted Aniimo, and it also works during combat in Command Mode.
The Heal skill runs on a longer cooldown than a creature’s own healing ability, so treat it as a backup rather than something you can spam every few seconds.
Bring a Heal-type Aniimo for on-demand healing
Some Aniimo are labeled as Heal creatures and carry support skills that restore HP on the spot. This is your most flexible recovery option during boss fights and dungeon runs, where you cannot rely on Blooms or a quick trip to town. Keeping at least one healer in your active party is strongly recommended.
A good example is Sparky’s Healing Water, which restores health to both allies and the caster. Other Heal Aniimo such as Flutternym, Skippy, Gracewing, and Glacy can top up the whole team and layer on extra buffs at the same time.
| Method | Where it works | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Bloom | Open-world regions | Free |
| Outpost healer | Outposts | Free, full heal |
| Bonfire | Field rest points | Free |
| Heal skill | Field and Command Mode | Cooldown |
| Heal-type Aniimo | Anywhere in battle | Skill/EP use |

Confirming your team is healed
You will know a heal worked when the affected Aniimo’s HP bar fills back up. Blooms raise it gradually while you stand in range, the Heal skill and creature abilities restore it in bursts, and an outpost healer or Bonfire returns your party to full. Since HP never regenerates passively, get into the habit of topping off at a Bloom or an outpost before stepping into any dungeon or boss arena where those options disappear.
