Blazen is the only evolved form in the Bolty family, and it is locked behind a specific place, a specific fight, and a specific item. You cannot evolve it from a menu wherever you happen to be standing. The game wants you in the Blitzwood, under one particular tree, with an Alpha already beaten.
Quick answer: Take a level 33 Bolty to the Blitz Tree in the Blitzwood, defeat the Alpha Blazen to unlock the evolution, then pay Roar Stone x1 to complete it.
Bolty to Blazen evolution requirements
Bolty is a Lumin-stage Electric Aniimo with the BREAK role, and it sits at stage 1 of the family. The in-game hint you get for its evolution points you toward the forest that attracts lightning, which is the Blitzwood. Everything below has to be true at the same time.
- Bolty must be at Aniimo level 33 or higher.
- You must be standing under the Blitz Tree in the Blitzwood.
- The Alpha Blazen must be defeated to unlock the evolution.
- The evolution costs Roar Stone x1.

There is no mid-line Gamma form here. The family jumps straight from stage 1 to stage 3, and Blazen has no further evolution of its own.

Both halves of the line live in the same place. Blitzwood is a level 40–45 area in the Breezy Plains region, and it is where wild Bolty spawn, where Blazen roam, and where the Blitz Tree stands. If you are levelling a Bolty from scratch, you can do the whole process without leaving the zone.
The Blitz Tree is the anchor point for the evolution. Your Bolty can hit level 33 anywhere in Idyll, but the evolution prompt only appears once you are underneath that tree, so plan a trip back to the Blitzwood once the level requirement is met. The Alpha Blazen patrols the same area, which keeps the last two steps close together.
Beating Alpha Blazen to unlock the evolution
The Alpha Blazen is the gate. Until it goes down, the evolution stays locked no matter how high your Bolty’s level is or how many Roar Stones you are carrying. It is an Electric fight, which matters for what you bring along.
Electric attacks are resisted by Electric targets at 0.625x, so leaning on your own Bolty for damage is the slow way through. Dark and Ice attacks both hit Electric for 1.6x, so a partner with either element cuts the fight down considerably. Avoid Rock, which Electric also shrugs off.
Fighting the Alpha Blazen while it is in its burst state is a logged research task for Blazen, so it is worth letting the fight run long enough to see that phase before you finish it.
How to confirm the evolution worked
A successful evolution swaps your stage 1 creature for a stage 3 one, and the change is obvious on sight. Blazen stands 1.4m tall against Bolty’s 0.6m, and its Aniilog entry moves from No. 45 to No. 46. Its element level also climbs from 1 to 3, and its homeland abilities go from Lv. 1 to Lv. 3.

The stat sheet is the other confirmation. Every line moves up, and the total climbs to 530.
| Stat | Bolty | Blazen |
|---|---|---|
| HP | 85 | 100 |
| Attack | 85 | 100 |
| Break | 87 | 104 |
| Magic Attack | 85 | 100 |
| Defense | 60 | 70 |
| Magic Defense | 60 | 70 |
| EP Regen | 73 | 86 |
Weight does not change. Both stages sit at 6kg.
Blazen skills, trait and field abilities
Bolty’s kit is short, with ATK, Thunder Tail and High-Voltage Dash. Evolving replaces the tail swipe and the dash with a full Electric claw set built around critical hits.
| Skill | Element | Power |
|---|---|---|
| ATK | Electric | 6 |
| Lightning Claw | Electric | 20 |
| Electrified Impact | Electric | 33 |
| Lightning Cross | Electric | 45 |
| Lightning Flash | Electric | 135 |
Lightning Claw and Lightning Cross both carry 50% additional critical rate, which feeds directly into the family trait. Power Sustain triggers after skills land six critical hits, putting Blazen into the Overcharged state with a shield equal to 5% of its HP and a 12 EP discount on every skill for six seconds. The trade-off is that UP cannot be gained while it is active. Lightning Flash also drops Blazen straight into Overcharged when it lands.
Outside combat, the upgrade is small but useful. Bolty carries Climb Lv.2, while Blazen has Climb Lv.3 and the High Jump mobility skill, plus Lightning and Artisanship homeland abilities at Lv. 3.
Mountain Woods and Prismana forms
Bolty (Mountain Woods Form) is the pale, golden-brown variant found in the same Blitzwood habitat, and it evolves on exactly the same terms as the basic form: level 33, under the Blitz Tree, Alpha Blazen defeated, Roar Stone x1. Its stats match the basic Bolty line for line, so nothing about your approach needs to change.

That evolution produces Blazen (Mountain Woods Form), a pure Electric stage 3 creature with the same 530 stat total and the same BREAK role as the basic Blazen. The difference is cosmetic, down to the golden fur tips that ripple like running current.

Blazen (Prismana) is the exception, and it cannot be produced by evolving anything. It has no Bolty stage, so the only way to own one is to catch it in the Blitzwood. It is dual-element Electric and Dark with an element level of 4, and it is the only member of the family that carries Dark Claw, a Dark-element combo with 30 power.

Encountering a Prismana Form Blazen is also one of the logged research conditions for the basic Blazen, so hunting one down does double duty once your evolved Blazen is in the party.
