Assassins win fights by disappearing. They slip into stealth to open from behind, and they vanish again the moment a fight turns against them. The cleanest answer in Aion 2 is a consumable that forces them back onto your screen, and it costs almost nothing to carry.
Quick answer: Keep a Seed of Detection on your hotbar and use it the instant an Assassin stealths. It reveals hidden enemies for 10 seconds, long enough to re-target and punish.
What Seed of Detection does
Seed of Detection is a Common usable item that detects Stealth for 10 seconds when activated. While it is running, any cloaked player inside your view becomes visible and can be targeted and attacked normally. It is a tier 1 item available from level 1, so there is no requirement standing between you and carrying a stack.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Grade | Common |
| Required level | 1 |
| Effect | Detects Stealth for 10s |
| Item cooldown | 30s |
| Max stack | 1,000 |
The item reuse timer of 30 seconds is the part that matters most in a drawn-out duel. A good Assassin will cloak more than once, so plan around that gap rather than popping the seed on a reflex the first time you lose sight of them.

You know it worked the instant the Assassin reappears on screen and can be selected as a target again. If the reveal lapses and they re-stealth, wait out the 30-second item cooldown before using a second seed.
Assassins are fragile compared with tanks and bruisers. Once the seed strips their cover, a well-timed stun or snare often ends the fight before their stealth skills come back up.
Where to get Seed of Detection
There are several routes to a steady supply, so you rarely need to rely on just one. Gathering is the most repeatable, while events and cubes top you up along the way.

- To perform Log Essence Extraction, gather materials at locations such as Collapsed Verteron Barrier Tower, Ellun River Marsh, Contaminated Marsh, Forest of Exiles, and Garden of the Illusion God.
- Shugo Festival events, including Jump Jump, Wraith Evasion, Mysterious Track, Defend Shugo Merchants and Odafr Flight Frenzy.
- Opening Hidden Cubes.
- Buying from other players through the Market Exchange.

If you would rather skip the farming, open the Market Exchange and search for the item by name. Listings have appeared around 400 Kinah per seed, which is cheap enough to stock a full duel loadout. Buying in bulk means you always have one ready for the next Assassin you run into.
The Assassin stealth skills you are countering
Knowing how long an Assassin can stay hidden tells you when to spend your seed and when to simply wait them out. Their concealment comes from two stigma skills with very different timers.
| Skill | Stealth duration | Cooldown | Combat use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20s | 120s | Out of combat only (until level 15) | |
| 3s | 45s | In combat |
Shadow Walk grants a long 20-second cloak but cannot be started once a fight is underway, and the stealth drops the moment the Assassin enters combat. At skill level 15 it becomes usable in combat, and later ranks add move speed and can reset its cooldown on kill assists. This is the skill Assassins use to set up an ambush before you even know they are there.
Shadowstep is the in-fight escape. It deals damage, moves the Assassin backward and grants Stealth for just 3 seconds on a 45-second cooldown. That short window is the one you most often want to break with a seed, because it is how a losing Assassin buys space to reset and strike again.
Carrying a few Seeds of Detection turns both of those tools into a minor inconvenience rather than a free escape. Keep one slotted, respect the 30-second reuse timer, and a cloaked Assassin becomes just another target you can chase down.
