Among the Uncommon scrooms encountered early in SCROOMS is Bloomcap, a small light-green mushroom creature with a leafy brow and one eye winking. It appears in the starting area and can be caught by holding an instrument in hotbar slot 1. On the Songkeeper’s Grove Index page, Bloomcap occupies slot 8 out of 15.

Bloomcap rarity, frequency and location

Everything the Index prints on the Bloomcap entry is below. Each Bloomcap you catch arrives with its own frequency, shown on the catch message and on its backpack card.

The entry also tracks your own stats. It keeps a Highest Frequency reading for the best one you have caught, plus a Date caught. A catch can read 81.3 Hz.

Bloomcap shares the Uncommon tier in Songkeeper’s Grove with Acornub, Mistdrop and Sunbrella. Two scrooms in the same area sit above it in rarity, both Rare: Burlcap and Dewleaf.

Where to catch Bloomcap

Your starting village is the forested Songkeeper’s Grove, where Bloomcap can appear on the grass near the spawn sign and among the red wooden homes. You can’t choose which scroom responds to your song—the game selects it. Keep playing in the Grove until Bloomcap appears.

How to catch it, step by step

Every scroom in the game uses the same catch, so this works for Bloomcap and everything else in the Grove.

Hold your instrument in hotbar slot 1 and click to play. The catch begins and a ring appears.
Click again on the ring to lock it in, then tune. Keep the pin sitting on the white dot while you adjust.
Hold the scroom inside the sliding catch zone. Keeping it there fills the bar running under the track.
Fill that bar to the end and the scroom is caught. A catch message prints the name and the exact frequency, such as You caught: Bloomcap! Frequency: 81.3 Hz.
Catch banner reading You caught Bloomcap at 81.3 Hz in the Songkeeper's Grove clearing
The catch confirmation reading “You caught: Bloomcap!” at 81.3 Hz, with the new Bloomcap following the player in the forest clearing.

How you know it worked

Two things confirm the catch. On screen, the banner reads “You caught: Bloomcap!” with its frequency, and the scroom starts following your character. In the Index, the Bloomcap card changes from a black silhouette labelled “???” to the full creature, and the Songkeeper’s Grove completion percentage climbs.

Tones: Melodic, Harmonic and Resonant

The Index listing has three tone lines, each labeled “Caught: <date>” or “Uncaught”. A tone is a scroom variant indicated by a prefix on its name, such as Melodic Bloomcap or Harmonic Bloomcap. One scroom can have both tones, making a Melodic Harmonic Bloomcap possible.

On Bloomcap’s card, a gold star shows that Melodic has been caught, while a cyan star denotes Harmonic. Catching an untoned Bloomcap fills the base card; collecting the tones is a separate goal.
