Akane’s Skills and Kit in Neverness To Everness, Explained

A Lakshana damage dealer who relays basic attacks through Overtone and Sound Domain, then spends String Energy on burst payoffs.

Neverness To Everness features Akane as an S-Rank Lakshana damage dealer, using an electric guitar and stringed sound blade to attack from mid-to-long distance. Her abilities first stamp a foe or zone with a sound effect; she can then direct her standard strikes into that mark to boost their damage. When her energy gauge is full, she spends it on one powerful blow. She appeared initially on the Chinese test server, and her entire skill lineup, awakenings, and signature gear can now be seen there.

Quick answer: Akane builds String Energy (cap 30) with basic attacks while an Overtone or Sound Domain is active, then spends all 30 on Synced Resonance for a single massive hit, either to one target or across a group.

A community build breakdown went up the same day she went live on the CN side, pulling together the numbers from recent gameplay.

Akane’s core systems: String Energy, Overtone, Sound Domain

Everything Akane does feeds one loop. She places a resonance effect, builds energy with normal hits that echo into that effect, and then releases a burst. Four systems drive this.

SystemWhat it does
String EnergyHer resource, capped at 30. Basic attacks and other hits build it, and it is fully spent to power her enhanced Redirect Skill.
OvertoneA single-target mark lasting 25s. Her normal attacks resonate to the marked enemy from any distance, dealing extra damage.
Sound DomainAn area field lasting 25s. Her normal attacks spread through it, dealing half a normal-attack instance to every enemy inside.
Solo CadenceThe Ultimate state that raises interruption resistance and unlocks the second stage of her Ultimate.

Only one of Overtone or Sound Domain can exist at a time. Placing a new one instantly removes the old one, and both share the same cooldown, so you pick a mode each time the cooldown clears. Choosing Overtone suits bosses and single elites; Sound Domain handles packs.

Core Combat Mechanics Overview

Rhythmic Wave: tap, hold, and Synced Resonance

Her Redirect Skill, Rhythmic Wave, is the center of the whole kit. Tapping it inflicts Overtone and deals damage. Holding it deploys the Sound Domain instead. Both last 25 seconds and share one cooldown.

While Overtone is up, her normal attacks relay to the marked target with their damage ratio boosted. While Sound Domain is up, her normal attacks spread to every enemy in the circle for extra damage. The exact relay bonuses climb with her awakenings.

Once String Energy hits 30 and either form is active, tapping the Redirect Skill casts Synced Resonance. With Overtone active, it fires one huge single-target hit at the mark. With Sound Domain active, it blasts everyone in the field. Synced Resonance only consumes the 30 energy on a hit, has no cooldown of its own, and does not refresh the timer on the mark it fires through.

Stringblade basic attacks and the sliding dodge

Her basic attack, Stringblade, is a multi-hit string that deals Lakshana damage and charges String Energy on every hit. Because her relay mechanics route these attacks into Overtone or the Sound Domain, the basic string is part of the rotation rather than filler. Pressing attack while airborne drops a plunging area strike, and a sliding dodge is woven into the combo so she can reposition without breaking rhythm.

Sonic Boom Ultimate and the manual second stage

Akane’s Sonic Boom Ultimate strikes the selected area for heavy Lakshana damage and shifts her into Solo Cadence, increasing her resistance to interruption. Near the end of this mode, activate the Ultimate once more to unleash a second blow with greater damage.

The second stage must be triggered manually. It does not go off on its own when Solo Cadence ends, and if you let the timer run out without pressing it, that second hit is lost.

Support skills: Perfect Pitch and Sparkling Star

Perfect Pitch ties Akane into the Remora reaction. After any party member triggers Remora once, she gains a buff that lasts until she leaves combat. Every three seconds, Overtone applies Remora to its marked target and Sound Domain applies it to all enemies in range. Whenever a teammate reapplies Remora to a target already carrying it, Akane deals bonus damage equal to 150% of her ATK, scaled by the time left on the Remora timer, up to a +160% boost.

Sparkling Star is simpler. After she casts her Ultimate, her own ATK rises by 20% for 20 seconds. It does not stack, and recasting refreshes the duration, which is why opening a burst window with the Ultimate tends to line up well.

Akane’s six awakenings

Each awakening node sharpens a different part of the loop, from survivability to raw multipliers.

  • Node 1: Casting the enhanced Redirect Skill heals her for 1000% of Base ATK, and raises DEF by 50% plus interruption resistance by 60% for 15s.
  • Node 2: Enemies under Overtone or inside the Sound Domain lose 12% Lakshana RES.
  • Node 3: Overtone gains a 1000% multiplier increase; Sound Domain radius grows 30% and pulls in enemies when deployed by hold.
  • Node 4: After the enhanced Redirect Skill, CRIT DMG rises by 30% for 15s.
  • Node 5: The relayed normal-attack bonus rises to 64% through Overtone and 90% through Sound Domain.
  • Node 6: Sparkling Star also grants 16% DEF Ignore.

Signature Arc: Moon’s Antipode

Her signature equipment, Moon’s Antipode (also localized as Far Side of the Moon), is built straight around her rotation. At full level it carries 570 ATK and 48% CRIT DMG as its main stats.

  • Increases Crit Rate by 15–27%.
  • Increases the wearer’s Redirect Skill damage by 28–56%.
  • After casting a Redirect Skill, Normal Attack damage rises 28–56% and Lakshana damage rises 20–40% for 15s.

Basic attacks feed the Redirect Skill and the Redirect Skill feeds basic attacks, so keeping both effects live adds the Lakshana bonus on top. That mirrors her build-energy-then-release pattern closely.

Open-world music and lifestyle perks

Away from combat, Free Strumming lets Akane pull out her guitar and play freely in the open world. She can also switch to a chromatic keyboard. The chord wheel covers G, Em, D, C, Bm, and Am, and performing draws nearby NPCs into a crowd.

Her two lifestyle skills cover city activities. Special Concoction increases Traffic, and Star of the Show raises the stamina consumption of Super Sound.

Put together, Akane reads as a self-sufficient Lakshana carry. She sets a mark, builds energy with her guitar string, and converts it into one large payoff each cycle, choosing single-target or area damage based on which form she lays down. Her signature Arc, awakenings, and the Remora tie-in all push the same loop harder rather than pulling her in new directions, which keeps the character consistent from the first node all the way up.
