Set up the Alchemist’s Mortar, gather Fire Flies in the Springlands, and craft Glow Dust one-for-one.

Glow Dust is a crafted material made by the Alchemist from Fire Flies. Its description reads, “A magical dust that can glow in the dark, consisting of the crushed remains of a Fire Fly.” Once you have the right setup in your base, you can turn Fire Flies into Glow Dust whenever you need it.

Requirements before you can craft Glow Dust

Before crafting, make sure the Alchemist is rescued and sheltered, and that you have placed the Alchemist’s Mortar in your base. To obtain the Mortar for the quest “The Alchemist’s Mortar“, fetch it from the underground laboratory beneath the Alchemist Tower in Lone Thistle, then bring it back to your base.

You also need Fire Flies. These are small glowing pickups found all over the Springlands. The Fire Fly description reads, “An animal, also blessed by the Flame, that spreads light in the dark.”

How to craft Glow Dust at the Alchemist

Place the Mortar in your base so the Alchemist can craft with it.
Collect Fire Flies across the Springlands. The recipe uses one Fire Fly per Glow Dust.
Talk to the Alchemist, open the Resources tab, and craft Glow Dust. Each Fire Fly produces one Glow Dust, and it goes to your backpack.
