Enshrouded 1.0: How to Get Feathers

The creatures that drop Feathers, how many each one gives, and the desert birds that drop five at a time.

The creatures that drop Feathers, how many each one gives, and the desert birds that drop five at a time.

Feathers are a common crafting material that you collect from kills, not from a crafting bench. They feed most of the metal and stone arrows at the Hunter, several Hunter armor pieces, and a handful of decorative builds.

Quick answer: Kill birds and certain humanoid enemies, then loot the body. A Draconian Vulture in the Kindlewastes drops 5 Feathers every time, the biggest single drop.

Every creature that drops Feathers

You won’t obtain Feathers through crafting or vendors, nor by gathering them as ground loot. Ravens, Scavenger Ravens, and vultures provide Feathers, while some humanoid enemies drop them occasionally.

The Vukah group covers Vukah, Vukah Ranger, Vukah Bonehunter, and Vukah Bonebreaker. More than half the Vukah you kill drop Feathers, which makes their camps a reliable early source. The Scavenger group covers Scab, Scalper, Butcher, Bully, Scrapshield, Miner, and Pyreblade.

Vukah Sages and Vukah Shamans do not drop Feathers.

Farming Feathers in the Kindlewastes

For large amounts, hunt the red Draconian Vultures that circle the Kindlewastes desert. Each one drops 5 Feathers.

Travel to an altar in the Kindlewastes using fast travel, then bring up the world map. Draconian Vultures fly over the open desert, and the map marks a Draconian Vulture Nest.

Because vultures and ravens fly, bring them down with a bow or ranged magic.

At lower levels, begin with camps occupied by Vukah in the Springlands and Nomad Highlands. Ravens and Scavenger Ravens throughout the Nomad Highlands yield 2-3 each, while Whitewing Vultures in the Albaneve Summits drop 5 apiece, matching Draconian Vultures.
