Obsidian is a late-game crafting material in Enshrouded, pulled from the dark, glassy rock that fills the caves of the Albaneve Summits. Its in-game description reads: “Volcanic, pitch-black glass formed centuries ago. It leaves sharp edges when fractured, making it interesting for smithing and crafting.” You feed it into blocks, arrows, spells, lockpicks and cold-weather gear.
Quick answer: Set the Ancient Spire in the Albaneve Summits as your fast-travel destination, then look for a cave containing dark, glassy rock and mine it using a pickaxe. Scavengers and Drak’Dal enemies can drop Obsidian, too.

The main source is the obsidian rock inside the Albaneve Summits caves. The region also has a named spot called the Obsidian Mine, marked on your map. Each swing adds Obsidian to your pickup list.
Farm Obsidian from enemies
On your way to the caves, clear Scavenger camps to gain Obsidian without doing additional mining. You can also get drops from Drak’Dal enemies found in the Veilwater Basin.
