The Launcher in Once Human is a crafting part, not a weapon you can fire. It’s a Semi-finished Item you need for Mr. Wish’s Rocket Launcher, and it also breaks down into a useful amount of base materials. You won’t find it on most enemies. It turns up in loot containers at industrial sites, and one Red Sands location is a dependable place to farm it.

Quick answer: Go to the 73 Source Extraction Point on the western side of Red Sands (around 2783, -1710). Open the Storage Crates on its metal walkways to loot a Launcher.

Launcher location: 73 Source Extraction Point in Red Sands

The Launcher can show up in containers at industrial strongholds across the wilderness. The 73 Source Extraction Point is a good choice because its crates sit close together on open decks and can drop a Launcher and a Control Unit from the same container.

The recommended level is 45. Below that level, the NPCs guarding the decks are a real risk, so bring gear that can handle a few fights in a row.

How to loot a Launcher from the Storage Crates

Open your world map and scroll to Red Sands. Zoom in on the western part of the region until the 73 Source Extraction Point label appears.

Travel to the facility. Expect hostile NPCs along the metal walkways. You can clear them or move past them, but clearing them makes it easier to search the area.
Search the open decks and metal platforms for Storage Crates. They glow, which makes them easy to spot against the industrial scenery, and they show an interact prompt when you get close.
Open a Storage Crate and take the Launcher from the loot menu. Take the Control Unit and any other parts in the same crate as well.

Not every crate drops a Launcher. If the first crate you open doesn’t have one, check the other Storage Crates around the same facility before you leave.

Confirm the Launcher is in your backpack

Open your backpack after looting. The Launcher appears with a Semi-finished Item label, and it stacks up to 1,000 per slot, so repeat runs don’t take up extra inventory space. The other items in the crate usually include Portable Mixed Fuel, Featherweight, and Metal Scraps.

Launchers can also be redeemed at the Shop, so you have another option if the crates keep coming up empty.

What the Launcher is used for

The Launcher is an old, sealed-up weapon part with two uses. It’s a crafting ingredient for Mr. Wish’s Rocket Launcher, and you can also break it down at a Disassembly Bench for a sizable pile of materials:

MaterialAmount per Launcher
Gunpowder24
Rubber20
Electronic Part12
Metal Scraps10

If you plan to build the rocket launcher, keep your Launchers rather than scrapping them. Once you have enough, extras from repeat trips to Red Sands make good disassembly fodder, since 24 Gunpowder from a single item is a lot.
