Jack-O Ghoul Nessie is the event Nessie in FischFright 3, the Halloween event that began in Fisch on October 17th, 2026. No end date has been announced. It will not bite on a normal cast. It only appears when bait, season, time of day, weather and a server-wide event all line up together, and the last two are where most attempts fail.
Quick answer: Equip Sour Jelly Candies during an Autumn night. Trigger Jack’o Moon weather with the Gourmand Rose at the ritual grounds, then fish anywhere once the Spooky Cemetery event is announced.
Jack-O Ghoul Nessie spawn conditions
Each condition below must be active at the moment you cast. If any one of them drops, for example when night turns to morning, the spawn window closes.
| Condition | Requirement | How you get it |
|---|---|---|
| Bait | Sour Jelly Candies | Equip from your bait inventory |
| Season | Autumn | Wait for the server season to change |
| Time | Night | Wait, or speed it up with a Sundial Totem |
| Weather | Jack’o Moon | Jack’o Moon Ritual or Jack-o-Moon Totem |
| Server event | Spooky Cemetery | Random announcement, can’t be forced |
| Location | Anywhere | Any water once the event is live |
The Spooky Cemetery event also appears in some event listings as the Haunted Cemetery event. The in-game announcement uses “Spooky Cemetery,” so that is the text to watch for.

Open your bait inventory and equip Sour Jelly Candies. It is listed as Jack-O Ghoul Nessie’s preferred bait. Black Licorice is sometimes suggested for the Nessie variants, but Sour Jelly Candies is the bait tied to this fish.
The server season has to be Autumn. If it is Summer, you have to wait for the cycle to roll over. The fish also only spawns at night. Any player can shorten the wait with a Sundial Totem, which speeds up the celestial cycle for everyone on the server. A chat message confirms it whenever one is used.

The “Morning has arrived!” message means night is over. Any Nessie attempt after that point will not work until the next night.
How to summon Jack’o Moon weather
Jack’o Moon is a FischFright 3 weather type. You can summon it in two ways. The free route is the Jack’o Moon Ritual at the ritual grounds, which is marked by a red, glowing rune circle on the floor. The paid route is the Jack-o-Moon Totem, sold by the Dutchman Merchant aboard the Flying Dutchman for 15,000 Treats, with a stock of one.
Jack’o Moon Ritual with the Gourmand Rose

E to talk to the ritual NPC. The NPC greets you with “Ah… another soul wanders onto the ritual grounds…” and opens the Rituals menu.
Ritual ingredients come from goblins. Three goblins spawn every 5 minutes at a rotating overworld location, such as Moosewood, Roslit Bay or Everturn Forest. A server message announces each spawn. Finish a goblin’s objective within 15 minutes of the spawn to receive ingredients.
Spooky Cemetery event trigger
The final condition is a random, server-wide mutation event. You can’t trigger it yourself. Once your bait, season, night and weather are set, keep watching for this announcement:
Spooky Cemetery is here, start fishing anywhere
When that text appears, location stops mattering. Cast into any water while all the other conditions are still active. You don’t need a dedicated pool or zone for this catch.
Confirming the Jack-O Ghoul Nessie catch
Even with every condition met, Nessie is rare. The Nessie variants carry a catch rate of roughly 1 in 7,055, so expect many casts per Spooky Cemetery window. A successful catch adds the fish to your inventory. It also fills the Ghoul Nessie entry in the FischFright 3 Bestiary, which is the clearest way to confirm you have it.
If the window closes without a catch, you only need to rebuild the parts that expired. That usually means waiting for the next night and the next Spooky Cemetery announcement. Your Autumn season, bait and, if it is still running, your Jack’o Moon weather may carry over.
