Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is fully voiced in two languages, and many of its voices will sound familiar. The English cast includes two leads from Netflix’s Castlevania series, an actor returning to a role he first played in 2005, and a group of anime and Marvel Rivals regulars. The Japanese dub has its own lineup of well-known seiyuu, including several voices from Naruto, Bleach, and Fate.

Quick answer: Abby Trott (English) and Yui Ishikawa (Japanese) voice Rose Belmont. Graham McTavish and Naoya Uchida voice Dracula. JB Blanc and Ryotaro Okiayu voice Trevor Belmont.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse full voice cast (English and Japanese)

There are 18 credited speaking characters. The English dub uses fewer actors than that, because three performers each play two characters. The Japanese dub gives every character a separate actor.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse first named ten English performers in an August 24 cast-reveal trailer: Trott, Blanc, Reynoso, McTavish, Chase, Lindbeck, Berger, O’Brien, Bennett, and LaPlante. The rest of the English credits, including Brauner, Talos, Arthur, the Ferryman, Saint Louis, Eleanor, and Mammon, appear in the full game.

Returning Castlevania voices in Belmont’s Curse

Four actors return to Castlevania characters they have voiced before. Three are in the English dub and one is in the Japanese dub.

  • Graham McTavish plays Dracula again, after voicing him in Netflix’s Castlevania animated series.
  • Alejandra Reynoso returns as Sypha Belnades, also from the Netflix series.
  • Liam O’Brien voices Isaac, Dracula’s Forgemaster. He first played the character in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness more than 20 years ago.
  • Mie Sonozaki voices Carmilla in Japanese, the same role she played in the Japanese dub of the animated series.

Not everyone from the show came back. Richard Armitage, who played Trevor Belmont on Netflix, is not in the game. JB Blanc voices Trevor instead, so the cast is a new group of actors with a few links to the show, not a straight transfer of it.

Where you know the English Belmont’s Curse cast from

Most of the English cast works mainly in games and anime dubs, so you have probably heard several of them in the last year without knowing it.

The Language settings tab lets players choose Texts Language and Voices Language, both set to English, and toggle subtitles in cutscenes.

Abby Trott has the most work in the cast. Her other credits include Wonder Woman in MultiVersus and Annette in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. JB Blanc is best known for Vander, the gruff father figure in Arcane, which fits Trevor’s role as Rose’s father. Graham McTavish is mostly an on-screen actor, so his voice work stands out more than most of the cast’s.

The Japanese dub has a strong Naruto connection. Uchida (Madara), Canna (Kabuto), Takeda (Kurotsuchi), Uzuki (Ino), and Kashii (Tonbo) all worked on the series. Ishikawa voicing Rose also links a whip-wielding hunter to two other well-known fighters she has played, Mikasa and 2B.

Sypha was not in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse’s first Japanese cast list, which came out with the June release-date announcement. Her Japanese voice, Ayaka Shimoyamada, is credited in the finished game.

Where you hear each boss voice in Belmont’s Curse

Most of the voiced bosses become Arcana cards after you beat them, so you can use their powers later. Here is where each one appears in the game.

Joan of Arc

Erica Lindbeck and Hana Takeda voice Joan of Arc. You fight her in the Paris Streets and again at Notre-Dame, in the Roof of the Tower district. Beating her gives you The Warrior Arcana card, the Infernal Pyre spell, and The Warrior’s Key.

Medusa

Melique Berger and Aiko Okubo voice Medusa. You fight her in Holy Innocents’ Cemetery, in the Ossuary of the Innocents district. She drops The Prophetess card, Petrifying Gaze, and The Prophetess’s Key.

The Fallen

Ray Chase and Nobutoshi Canna voice The Fallen. Before launch, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse did not say who the character really is. Warning: spoiler ahead. In the game, The Fallen Arcana card is tied to Leon, and it gives you the Arcane Whip ability and the Holy Cross spell.

Dracula

Graham McTavish and Naoya Uchida voice Dracula. You fight him twice in the Master’s Quarters, in the Court of the Night district. Unlike the other bosses here, he does not drop an Arcana card.

Belmont’s Curse voice and subtitle languages

There are just two voice options, English and Japanese. Every release includes both, whether you play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, or PC via Steam or the Xbox app. Your platform has no effect on the dub.

  • Voice acting: English, Japanese
  • Text and subtitles: English text, Japanese text, German text, French text, Italian text, Spanish (Spain) text, Brazilian Portuguese text, Russian text, Korean text
  • Chinese text: Traditional and Simplified

All nine languages other than English and Japanese are text only. If you want to hear Ishikawa’s Rose instead of Trott’s, switch the voice language to Japanese. If you play in German, French, or any other subtitle language, you will still hear one of the two dubs.
