Enshrouded is out of Early Access. Version 1.0 launched on October 15, 2026, and Keen Games’ eight-minute overview trailer covers what changed. It shows a new endgame region floating above a lava field, a wiring system for building your own puzzles and traps, a magic class that can raise the dead, and a long list of smaller fixes. The Embervale storyline also reaches its end.
Quick answer: Enshrouded 1.0 launched October 15, 2026 on PC and PS5. It adds Cinder’s Cradle, raises the level cap to 50 and the gear cap to 55, and introduces Sparkworks and Adventure Sharing.

Cinder’s Cradle and the new endgame
Cinder’s Cradle sits north of Veilwater Basin. It is a volcanic waste of ash and lava, with ancient ruins scattered across it and islands that the Ancients lifted into the sky. Robotic guardians patrol the ruins inside the Shroud. It is the last region of the Embervale story, and 1.0 ends that story there.

New enemies come with the region. There is a new faction with its own warriors, plus heavier fighters and elite versions of existing foes.

Level, gear and Flame caps
| Cap | Early Access | 1.0 |
|---|---|---|
| Character level | 45 | 50 |
| Gear upgrade level | — | 55 |
| Active Flame Altars | — | 16 |
A new survivor who knows about the Ancients joins your craftspeople. The kitchen also gets new recipes, and the trailer shows Crab Cakes as an Epic consumable. Higher Flame levels unlock more altars, and the update adds new decoration blocks and furniture to use with them.

Wider map edges and two new Hollow Halls
The edges of the map have been pushed outward, which also makes room for huge sealed structures. Cinder’s Cradle has 12 new Shroud Roots, and the older regions get six more between them.

There are two new Hollow Halls, one in the Albaneve Summits and one in Veilwater Basin.

Boss changes
A player’s death during a boss fight no longer restores the boss to full health instantly. The Fell Dragon Wyrmling now has a bigger, redesigned arena, along with a new ground-based phase geared toward melee players. That clip in the trailer carries a spoiler warning.
Sparkworks: Enshrouded’s logic system
Sparkworks lets you wire objects together. A lever, button, or pressure plate can open a trapdoor, fire a trap, or turn on a light, and logic gates and timers decide what happens and when. With these pieces you can build puzzles, enemy spawners, and full custom dungeons. A wire view shows the links between objects.
Adventure Sharing lets other players play what you build. A “Create Shared World” option in the menu publishes a world, and you can download bases and dungeons made by other players.
Sparkworks pieces in the 1.0 build
You wire everything with the Sparkworks Tool. It is a reward from the quest Contraptions And Mechanisms and is found in Revelwood. Each piece in the table below is crafted at the Sparkworks Workbench and stacks to 50.
| Piece | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Input | Toggles ON or OFF | |
| Input | Lever plus a light that shows ON | |
| Input | Toggle button with a light that shows ON | |
| Input | Short ON pulse, then OFF | |
| Input | ON while something stands on it | |
| Input | Toggles when hit by an arrow or spell | |
| Output | Light source on a circuit | |
| Output | Can be switched by a circuit | |
| Output | Fires a lightning bolt when switched on | |
| Output | Raises spikes when switched on | |
| Output | Floor that opens when switched | |
| Output | Larger floor that opens when switched | |
| Control | Adds and edits Sparkworks graphs |
A Sparkworks circuit can use any light source, not just the Sparkworks Light. Torches and braziers work too. The Sparkworks Trigger Zone also exists in the 1.0 build and stacks to 50, but it has no workbench recipe.
Building and storage changes
Airborne Architect is a new builder skill. At your base, it transforms your character into a spark that can fly freely in first person as you place blocks. On PC, hold Z + Space to toggle the skill. It works only within the base’s boundaries.

Storage is easier to manage, too. Use the Enchant button to convert a regular chest into a Magic Chest right where it sits, with no need to dismantle and rebuild it. Its contents become available for crafting throughout the base. You can also rename chests, and the trailer shows a Huge Magic Chest undergoing enchantment.
Combat and magic changes in 1.0
Mages get the largest set of changes. There are nine new kinds of spells and new elemental totems. A necromancy branch in the skill tree lets you summon Hollow allies and Reapers. The Advanced Necromancy node raises your summon limit by one ally per level. Gems can also summon allies, and the Gem of Greater Necromancy has a 35% chance to bring in a Hollow Soldier when you kill an enemy.
Eternal spells and arrows can be used forever. Once you craft one, you no longer need to keep crafting that ammunition. The trailer shows Eternal Pillar of Flames I, Eternal Hollow Wretch II, Eternal Voltaic Arrow III, and Eternal Ember Arrow III.
Wands get new attacks in their own skill tree. These include directional melee and heavy attacks, the Wand Evasion Attack, and the Aerial Wand Attack, a leaping strike from the air. Auto-targeting has also been improved.

Eternal Acid Bite stats
Eternal Acid Bite illustrates how eternal spells work. This Mage spell sends a poisonous acid spray outward in a forward cone, leaving acid on the ground. It strips armor from enemies, making them take 25% more physical damage for the debuff’s duration. Both versions are crafted at the Alchemist, and crafting them requires being beneath a roof.

| Stat | Eternal Acid Bite I | Eternal Acid Bite II |
|---|---|---|
| Rarity / item level | Epic / 20 | Legendary / 45 |
| Poison damage | 76 | 147 |
| Mana cost | 105 | 204 |
| Charge time | 1 s | 1 s |
| Duration / debuff | 5 s / 10 s | 5 s / 10 s |
| Perks | Mana Cost -10%, Charge Time -5% | Mana Cost -10%, Charge Time -10% |
| Recipe unlocked by | Picking up Sulfur | Picking up Archaic Shards |
Engine, voice acting and quality-of-life fixes
The engine work is mostly about performance and image quality. The game uses less memory and draws more detail at long range. Lighting under bamboo and forest canopies is better, shaders compile faster, scenes can use more point lights, and HDR monitors are supported natively.

All main NPCs now have full voice acting, and lore notes are read aloud from the journal. Voices are available in English, German, and Chinese. Everything else is a set of smaller changes:
- Elio Ricci, a new Stylist NPC, lets you switch between Classic (shorter and stockier) and Realistic body proportions.
- Movement animations have been cleaned up.
- The first hours of the game are easier to learn, with extra loot chests and rebalanced early crafting recipes.
- Server hosts can change how long it takes Glider updrafts to charge.
- You can add your own markers to the world map, with custom names and colors.
- Holding the interact button picks up all loose loot nearby at once.
- Fishing bait now matches fish tiers more closely.
- You slide down steep slopes less often, and jumping on steep slopes costs stamina.
The Glider whose updrafts are affected is crafted at the Workbench. In the 1.0 build it has an item level of 5, Range 100%, Speed 10, and uses 4 stamina per second while gliding.
Embervale region sizes in the 1.0 build
The map is bigger in 1.0, but the older regions still make up most of it. The table shows how much of the world each one covers in the shipped build. Springlands is by far the largest.

| Region | Share of world | Quests |
|---|---|---|
| Springlands | 28.8% | 8 |
| Kindlewastes | 13.4% | 5 |
| Revelwood | 8.6% | 8 |
| Nomad Highlands | 6.0% | 4 |
| Blackmire | 4.4% | — |
Springlands, Kindlewastes, Revelwood, and Nomad Highlands each have the same five achievements: secret keeper, stargazer, weeding, Mole, and Spark. Revelwood also matters for Sparkworks, because that is where you find the Sparkworks Tool. Every circuit in your base starts with that tool.
