Riddled Echoes is the first Jianghu Legacy quest in Qingzhou, the region added in Where Winds Meet’s Version 2.3 update, Friends From Afar. A meteor drops near Mount Tai, the crater opens into a Han Dynasty tomb, and you spend about 20 minutes inside with Inkbound Order scholar Zhuge Feifei. Along the way you deal with riddles, quicksilver floods, a pitch-black corridor and a swarm of insects. The quest is also the only way to unlock the Willowbend Fan martial art.
Quick answer: Unlock Eastern Peak by talking to the Wayfarer during Away to Qingzhou. Then track Riddled Echoes near Seedling Temple and examine the sword mark in the lower chamber to learn Willowbend Fan.

How to start Riddled Echoes
The quest won’t appear until Qingzhou’s Eastern Peak subregion is open. Before you start, check that you have the following:
Access to Qingzhou, which arrived with Version 2.3 on October 15, 2026.
Speaking with the Eastern Peak Wayfarer during Away to Qingzhou, a Worldly Affairs quest, unlocks the Eastern Peak subregion.
The Mystic Skill Night Glow, which you’ll want for the dark tunnels.
Open the Exploration menu and go to Qingzhou, then Jianghu Legacy, then 01 Riddled Echoes, and track it. The marker sits just south of Seedling Temple, on the southeast side of Mount Tai. When you head toward it, the sky turns dark and the objective changes to “Something is strange about the sky.”
The quest runs in a straight line, and the markers always point to the next interaction. The parts worth knowing about are the two traps, the chest minigame and the chase, so those are covered in the most detail below.
Go to the clifftop vantage point by the water and watch the falling stars. One of them hits the forest below, and the objective updates to “Go to the fallen star’s location.”
Run about 400m to the impact site and glide down into the crater. Go into the cavern at the bottom and cast Night Glow to light the passage. Some prompts call it Nightborne Glow, and it is mapped to B on controller. A Hero’s Tomb chest along the tunnel holds Echo Jade and coins.
In front of the carved stone doors, examine the peculiar bowl on the altar. It carries the first piece of the tomb’s riddle. Zhuge Feifei shows up behind you, and after a short conversation the two of you agree to explore the tomb together.
When you come out the other side, inspect the two stones sealing the tomb doors from the inside. Then turn around and follow Zhuge Feifei down the hallway.
In the hall with the laid-out tables, inspect the three marked items. Two Compendium entries are here as well: the Heel Support near the left-hand table and the Winged Goblet on the right.
From behind the central table, inspect the three symbols on the door beside Zhuge Feifei. They depict the Queen Mother of the West and Han funerary carvings.
Check the broken bowl on the side altar and talk to Zhuge Feifei about its riddle. Then go down the corridor. The side room you pass is empty, but there’s a chest at the end of the hall.
Head for the solitary statue at the room’s rear. A wall lowers between you and Zhuge Feifei as quicksilver floods the floor. Climb the raised beam to reach the wooden rafters and stay above it.
As the quicksilver continues to rise, make your way across to the tunnel on the far side of the room. You can cross it without sinking. Before leaving the small chamber, open the chest behind the altar.
Curing Quicksilver Poisoning
While poisoned, you can’t heal. The poison also can’t kill you, so you don’t need to rush. The game moves you forward in short jumps as you walk.
When the prompt appears, lower your hand and step away from the wall to crouch under the collapsed timbers. Touch the wall again afterward and keep going until the corridor lights up.
Reach through the hole and steer your hand with W/A/S/D. Avoid the red danger zones, because they trigger blade traps. Pull out the three objects one at a time. The prompts name them as Immortal’s Pit or Immortal’s Pill, Endless Catch, and Woven Trivet or Woven Tasset.
Find the fourth spot, the trigger. Something grabs your hand. Mash the on-screen prompts to free yourself, and Zhuge Feifei arrives just as the insects pour out of the ceiling vents.

Escaping the insect swarm
The insects follow light and heat, and if they catch you, they can kill you. If that happens, the chase restarts, so keep moving and react quickly to prompts.
At Zhuge Feifei’s suggestion, press the flashing prompt to send a flaming arrow into the oil cauldron at the center. The swarm catches fire, but only briefly.
Once the oil burns out, keep running and catch up with Zhuge Feifei in the long corridor. Follow him down the pit at the dead end, landing on the platforms on the way down.
Follow Zhuge Feifei into the chamber full of vines and broken incubation coffins. Inspect the sarcophagus and the scattered book pages. Loot the chest in the study corner, and pick up the Lunar Pendant and Discarded Fan from the tables.
Read the wall carving about Master Moonstream and Sun Buqi, then talk it over with Zhuge Feifei. Climb the ladder in the wall. It takes you to the crypt, not back to the surface.
Check the inverted bowl on the sarcophagus altar. The verses you collected combine into one riddle, and you and Zhuge Feifei solve it together. The riddle refers to the court game in which Dongfang Shuo guessed a gecko hidden under an inverted bowl.
When the sarcophagus slides open, drink the tomb master’s wine. A shared vision of Emperor Wu’s banquet plays, and afterward you talk to Zhuge Feifei one last time.

How to confirm Riddled Echoes is complete
After the final conversation, a banner reading “01 Riddled Echoes Completed” appears and you are returned to the surface at Mount Tai. A moment later, the Banquet Guest achievement pops up under the Qingzhou Jianghu Chronicles. Willowbend Fan should already be in your martial arts list from earlier in the quest, and A Moonlit Night now has its own quest pin on the map.
