What the Traversal Talisman does
The talisman is listed under the “Items” category. Its item card reads:
“A wooden talisman with iridescent hues shining through its cracks. Shattering it unleashes a strange force that opens a path through the Discordance, allowing you to traverse to other locations.”
“When away from a Bell, consume this Talisman to travel to any previously rung Bell.”
Using Traverse from one Bell to another costs neither a talisman nor Remnant Dust, so you only need one when you’re away from a Bell. The fast travel system handles Bell-to-Bell trips on its own.
Traversal Talisman location in the waterfall cave
The Traversal Talisman is located at the cave’s far end, behind the Great Waterfall. Begin the steps below at the cave’s end, by the brazier-lit wall beyond a rock pillar.
Press Space once; Soul automatically leaps onto the chain and swings roughly 20 m across without another key press. Other chain swings are covered in the climbing guide.

Once it closes, a “Traversal Talisman +1” notice appears along the right edge of the screen.
Beyond the shrine, follow the path to a rock marked “Words in Blood” beside a corpse, then continue out of the cave. Leaving there ends Steel and Steam and begins Crimson Forest.
