Soul at Jewel's hut with the Polish accessories and Leave options, Phantom Blade Zero

Quick answer: Jewel is at a hut in the Village of Lu, a short walk down from the Place of Awakening bell. Talk to her and pick “Polish accessories,” which costs a Tainted Crystal Shard and Remnant Dust.

Where to find Jewel

Jewel lives in the Village of Lu, which you visit during Chapter 1’s AGAINST THE FLOW story quest. Her hut is about 200 metres from the Place of Awakening bell.

Ring the Place of Awakening bell. It is the crane statue at the spot where you first arrive in the Village of Lu.
After crossing the long rope bridge, follow the forest trail to a junction. Head down the steep plank way on your right to reach the first huts.
Continue roughly 30 metres beyond the first huts. Find the hut marked by a scarlet workbench, lanterns hanging overhead, and a stand displaying tools and trinkets. Approach, and a brief scene with Jewel at her table will begin.

Once the scene ends, Jewel stays at the hut. Talking to her brings up two options, “About the faint weeping” and “Polish accessories”.

Who Jewel is

Jewel is one of Lady Inanis’s artisan sisters. She greets Soul as if she had expected him to arrive. Forge, who handles weapon upgrades, is Jewel’s triplet and was born a moment before her. Jewel recognizes Soul’s broken pipa as the instrument Lady Inanis made for the Chord. She tells him to bring all the missing pieces to Myst, her second sister, for repairs.

When Soul asks about the faint weeping he hears, Jewel explains that the Chord is Lady Inanis’s daughter. The Chord lives in a puppet body and is accomplished in music and Phantom Arts; Jewel thinks the weeping could be her call for help. If you select the option to polish accessories, Jewel says trinkets lost throughout the Wulin can be refined further by her.

How to polish accessories with Jewel

Before you head over, make sure you’re carrying the crafting material and the Remnant Dust. The polish won’t go through without both in hand.

Talk to Jewel at her red table and choose “Polish accessories”.
Three tabs appear in the menu: MAIN WEAPONS, PHANTOM EDGES and ACCESSORIES. Select ACCESSORIES.
Select the accessory you want to polish. The panel shows its polished name with “+1” and lists the new effect above the current one. Below that, you’ll see the material required, how many you own and how many it costs. The Remnant Dust price appears on the “HOLD … TO POLISH” button.

The MAIN WEAPONS tab works the same way weapon upgrades do at a bell. Taking the Sanguine Twin from level 5 to the next level raises Damage from 280 to 300 and Guard Break from 140 to 150. That upgrade costs 6 Twinned Metal, 3 Solvent and 2,970 Remnant Dust.

The first polish on an accessory uses a Tainted Crystal Shard, whose item text reads “Required to polish an accessory for the first time.” A second polish calls for a different material, the Refined Indigo Crystal: “Required to polish an accessory for the second time.”

You can buy the Tainted Crystal Shard from Quick Hand Zhang for 7,440 Remnant Dust, or find one in the world.

Jewel’s Knot in the chest beside Jewel’s hut

A few metres from her table, a red-and-gold chest is positioned by Jewel’s hut. It contains Jewel’s Knot, a Defensive accessory with the effect “Increases HP by 15%.” Its description says Second Sister Myst provided the threads, Eldest Sister Forge supplied the metal loops, and Jewel made the knots; the three sisters gave it to Master Soul.

Opening the chest prompts “Equip the new Accessory now?” You have three accessory slots, and the accessories list shows what else fits them.
