Quick answer: Young Mistress starts when you ring The Lady Grounds bell inside Master Bi Yuan‘s arena in the Village of Lu. Its first objective is “Examine the ribbon left by Mu Xiaokui (1/5)”.

How to start Young Mistress

Young Mistress opens in the Village of Lu during Chapter 1. The trigger is The Lady Grounds bell, a crane bell that sits in the middle of Master Bi Yuan’s statue arena. Bi Yuan attacks the moment you step into that arena, so you reach the bell only after his fight.

Go to the Statue Grounds Entrance bell. This is your starting point for the climb to the arena.
Climb the stone stairs beside that bell. At the top, pass through the gate strung with red threads to enter the Statue Grounds arena.
Deal with Master Bi Yuan, who attacks as soon as you enter.
Walk to the crane bell in the center of the arena and press E to ring it. The first ring plays a hand-drawn memory.

You know it worked when the memory ends and the screen shows “Days Remaining:60”, followed by the YOUNG MISTRESS quest card with the objective “Examine the ribbon left by Mu Xiaokui (1/5)”.

The memory at The Lady Grounds

Soul remembers his childhood in the Order as a harsh, isolating time. His one comfort was Mu Xiaokui, a small girl in a red robe. In a bamboo grove, she shares her hope of someday traveling the Wulin at his side as a hero.

Mu Tianmiao, one of the Order’s elders, warns the children off any heroics. The Order stays out of the Wulin’s conflicts, he explains. It acts with restraint, wields power quietly, and lets the world know it exists without ever revealing where, because that secrecy is the source of its standing. The children also train under Zuo Shang, who calls out Soul for holding back while sparring.

Soul vows to Xiaokui that next time he will give his all. The scene shifts to the present: with a red ribbon in hand, he admits he has been outpaced this time and vows not to fall behind.

The first objective

The counter means there are five ribbons to examine in total. When the memory closes, Soul is already holding a red ribbon at The Lady Grounds, and the “Days Remaining:60” counter appears on screen as the quest begins.

Who Mu Xiaokui is

Mu Xiaokui grew up alongside Soul in the Order. In the memory she appears as a child in a red robe, the friend who wanted to become a hero with him, and the ribbons this quest sends you after are the ones she left behind.
