Quick answer: The calculator below lets you plan talents for all nine WoW Forever classes, across all three trees each, using the 51 points available at level 60.

How to use the WoW Forever talent calculator

Choose from nine classes: Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock and Warrior. You can save any build you make and share it using a link.

  1. Select a class using the controls along the upper edge. Its three talent trees appear side by side. On a phone, the display shows one tree at a time; use the tabs to switch between them.
  2. Select a talent with a click to assign one point. On a phone, tap it to open its card, then press +. Further clicks add ranks one at a time until the talent reaches its cap, displayed on the icon (for example, 0/5).
  3. Use right-click or Shift+click to reclaim a point. On a phone, press minus on the talent card. A point cannot be reclaimed while another talent relies on it; for example, a lower talent may require it as a prerequisite or require points spent above it.
  4. Hover over a talent, or tap it on a phone, to read it. The card shows the name, the current rank, what that rank does, what the next rank does and anything still required to unlock it.
  5. The bar above the trees displays points spent out of 51, points remaining, the character level required for the build, and the distribution across all three trees, such as 0 / 31 / 20.
  6. Clear points with the Reset button on any single tree, or wipe the whole build with Reset all.
  7. Press Copy build link to copy a URL that restores the same class and talent choices in the calculator. The page URL changes as you assign points, so bookmarking it preserves the build as well.

Keyboard controls are available too: Tab moves focus from one talent to another, Enter or Space assigns a point, and minus or Backspace removes one.

Reading the colours on the talent trees

Each icon’s colour tells you whether you can spend on it right now.

  • Grey icon: locked, because the tree lacks enough points, a prerequisite is missing or no points are left.
  • Green border: the talent can receive points or has ranks assigned already.
  • Gold outline: fully ranked.
  • A small gold dot in the corner marks a gold medal talent.
  • Arrows show prerequisite connections and turn gold when the required talent reaches its maximum rank.

Talent rules the calculator follows

You receive your first talent point at level 10, followed by one at each subsequent level, reaching 51 points at level 60. To find the level a build requires, add 9 to its spent points. For example, 10 points require level 19, while all 51 points require level 60.

Each class has three talent trees, and every tree contains seven rows. The first row is accessible with your first point. Each later row requires five additional points in that tree: row 2 opens at 5, row 3 at 10, row 4 at 15, row 5 at 20, row 6 at 25 and row 7 at 30.

Each gold medal talent takes one point. They appear at tree totals of 11, 16, 21 and 31 points; WoW Forever adds the medal talent at 16 points.

Some talents can’t be taken until another talent is fully ranked. Mage Combustion needs Critical Mass first, for example, and Warrior Mortal Strike needs Sweeping Strikes.

In the game itself, you change and reset talents at a class trainer in a major city. Dual Specialization unlocks at level 40, which lets you keep two setups.

WoW Forever talent counts by class

Talent counts vary by class. The class pages below explain what every talent does. For all nine classes on one page, see the talent trees for every class.

If you haven’t rolled a character yet, the best race for each class covers Alliance and Horde picks.
