Haze Seas Materials: Every Drop, Source, and What It Unlocks

Where each Mythical, Legendary, and quest material comes from and the exact upgrade it feeds into.

Where each Mythical, Legendary, and quest material comes from and the exact upgrade it feeds into.

Progression in Haze Seas hinges on materials. Once you push past the early islands, leveling alone stops moving the needle, and the good stuff — V2 Fighting Styles, awakened Devil Fruits, endgame swords, and boss summons — all gate behind specific drops. Some come from Merchant NPCs, some spawn on the map, and the rarest are locked to Island Bosses and Super Bosses.

Quick answer: Farm the Super Boss that guarantees the material you need. Most Mythical items (Saturn’s Ring, Raijin’s Core, Dragon Heart, Phantom Lantern) are 100% drops from their boss, so kill that boss on spawn instead of grinding random tables. Prismatic Shard is the exception — you craft it from five different Mythical materials.

Mythical materials and their Super Boss sources

These are the rarest crafting materials in the game and the ones endgame builds revolve around. Because several are guaranteed drops, the fastest route is to camp the boss whenever it spawns and bank a stockpile before you start unlocking upgrades.

Note: Dragon Heart and Saturn’s Ring are tied to Sea 3 content. If your server hasn’t unlocked those bosses yet, treat them as future targets rather than active farm goals.

Legendary materials

A step below Mythical, but still required for major unlocks. Blade Fragments matter most here since they feed the Ancient Blade Relic recipe that gates the top-tier swords.

MaterialHow to getWhat it unlocks
Shrine Relic30% drop from Shrines (guaranteed from the Treasure Shrine Raid)Maximum Observation Haki
Mirror Fragment1% drop from Bosses, including the Soul BossUnlock the Mirror World portal at Dough Island

Quest and boss-spawn items

A large chunk of Haze Seas materials exist purely to hand off to an NPC or to trigger a boss spawn. These are the keys, ores, and books you’ll pick up while grinding, and each has one specific job.

MaterialHow to getWhat it does
Book50% drop from the Dual Swordsman Super BossGive to Doctor White to unlock Two Sword Style V2 (need V1 first)
ColaSold at the Haze Cafe on Starter IslandGive to the Wizard at Rocky Pillars to spawn the Sea 1 Sea Beast

Lava Ore5% drop from the Marine Captain BossPlace in the cauldron inside the cave to spawn the Mace Super Boss
Tremor Beard Key2.5% drop from the Ice AdmiralOpens the Tremor Beard Door and summons Tremor Girl at Marine HQ
White Orb25% drop from Tremor GirlBuy the Tremor Cloak from the Bella Thell NPC
Match5% drop from the WardenLights the campfire in Tall Woods to begin the Fire Fist spawn

Dragon Orb0.5% drop from the Mace V2 Super BossPlace on the altar atop Dragon Island to spawn the Dragon Super Boss
Snow Orb1% drop from the Snowman BossSpawn the XMAS Monster at Winter Island

Tip: The Ice Ore drop won’t appear at all until you’ve handed the Legendary Blacksmith a Sea Beast Core. If the Snow Harpy keeps dropping nothing, that missing prerequisite is why.

Common material: Doughnuts

Doughnuts look like a throwaway collectible, but they gate real content. They drop at roughly 1% from mob NPCs on Peanut Island, Cake Island, and Dough Island, and you need them to open the Mirror World portal at Dough Island. Hoarding 50 of them also earns the Doughnut Collector title.

Event-only materials

Three materials only exist during seasonal events and are spent in their matching limited-time shops. They have no permanent crafting use outside those windows.

Fastest way to stockpile materials

Prioritize the guaranteed drops. Saturn’s Ring, Raijin’s Core, Dragon Heart, Phantom Lantern, and Ice Ore all come back 100% of the time from their respective bosses, so every kill is a confirmed material rather than a coin flip. Kill those bosses the moment they spawn and let the low-chance items build up passively while you grind.

For the sword endgame, the chain is Blade Fragments into Ancient Blade Relics into Dual Dark Blade and Three Sword Style V2. Five Blade Fragments make one Relic, and the top recipes ask for 20 Relics plus an Abyssal Eye, so start banking fragments long before you plan to craft.

You’ll know a hand-off worked when the NPC dialogue confirms the exchange or the new weapon, style, or Fruit awakening appears in your inventory. If a boss summon item does nothing, check that you’re using it at the correct location — the Dragon Orb only works on the Dragon Island altar, and the Lava Ore only reacts inside the cauldron in the Mace cave. Building up a reserve early means you’re never blocked waiting on a rare spawn once you reach the V2 grind.
