Lightning Fruit V2 is the awakened form of the Lightning Fruit in Sailor Piece, and unlocking it means grinding a single boss in Sea 2 for a pile of rare materials plus one very stubborn title. The upgrade raises your damage output and opens up new combat effects, but the path there is long and gated behind RNG drops.
Quick answer: Equip the Lightning Fruit, earn the Thunder God Title, and farm 4 Taiko Drums, 15 Lightning Flash, 5 Thunder Stones, and 3 Lightning Fragments from the Lightning Boss. Then talk to the V2 NPC at the back of the Flying Ship in Sea 2 to evolve the fruit.
Get the base Lightning Fruit first
The whole progression starts with owning the Lightning Fruit itself. It is a Legendary fruit with a yellow name tag, and you obtain it by rolling at the fruit dealer on Sailor Island in Sea 1. There is no boss to farm for the base fruit, just coins and patience.
Head to the Coin Fruit Dealer (or the Gem Fruit Dealer) on Sailor Island and keep rolling until Lightning appears. Because it sits in the Legendary tier, expect a long streak of rolls before it shows up. Once you get it, eat the fruit right away so you have Lightning V1 active.

Tip: Set a coin limit before you start rolling. Spend only part of your stack, then go farm more instead of draining your whole economy chasing one fruit.

Almost every material you need comes from the Lightning Boss on the Flying Ship in Sea 2. You need access to Sea 2 to reach it, then you can use your current location’s teleport portal to get to the Flying Ship. The boss stands at the front of the vessel and respawns every 10 minutes after each defeat.

Here is what the boss drops and how often, so you know which items are guaranteed and which will take repeated kills.
| Item | Drop chance |
|---|---|
| Lightning Flash | 100% |
| Lightning Fragment | 100% |
| Thunder Stone | 100% |
| Taiko Drums | 32.86% |
| Golden Staff | 29.03% |
| Thunder God Title | 0.1% (pity at 70 kills) |
The Thunder God Title is the real wall. At a 0.1% drop rate with pity only at 70 kills, you could beat the boss 69 times and still not have it. There is no way around the grind, so keep killing until it drops or the pity counter hands it over.
Tip: Fight with your main damage build, then swap to your Luck build right before the boss dies. The game reads your Luck stat at the moment of the kill, so this improves your odds on the RNG drops. A 2x or 3x Luck server event helps even more. While the boss is on its 10-minute cooldown, farm other Sea 2 bosses so no time goes to waste.
Lightning V2 unlock requirements
The NPC that evolves your fruit stands at the back of the Flying Ship, near the propeller. The easiest way to reach him without dropping into the ocean is to climb onto the ship’s roof and dash across to his spot. Bring the following before you talk to him.
| Requirement | Amount |
|---|---|
| Lightning Fruit equipped | V1 active |
| Thunder God Title | Obtained |
| Taiko Drums | 4 |
| Lightning Flash | 15 |
| Thunder Stones | 5 |
| Lightning Fragments | 3 |
Once you meet every requirement, interact with the NPC to confirm the upgrade. Your fruit is now Lightning V2, with higher damage than V1. The strongest move is still locked at this point, so there is one more stage to clear.
Unlock the Lightning V2 F Move Mastery
The F move is handled by a second NPC on the Flying Ship, standing behind a pillar and wearing a straw hat. To reach him, climb the large pipe above the ship and interact with him. Before he sells the move, you need the Amaru Clan active along with another batch of materials.

To land the Amaru Clan, open Settings and use your Clan Rolls until it appears. You can set the Clan Reroll Filter to exclude clans you do not want, which lets you keep rerolling and skip past filtered results until Amaru shows up. Equip it before returning to the NPC.
| Requirement | Amount |
|---|---|
| Lightning V2 equipped | V2 active, not V1 |
| Amaru Clan | Rolled and equipped |
| Golden Staff | 1 |
| Taiko Drums | 4 |
| Lightning Flash | 30 |
| Thunder Stones | 10 |
| Lightning Fragments | 5 |
All of the materials here come from the same Lightning Boss, so it is more of the same 10-minute farm cycle. Once you meet the checklist and confirm with the NPC, the F move becomes usable in combat. The F Move Mastery adds a clear step up in damage over base V2.
Common reasons the upgrade fails
If the NPC will not complete the trade, run through this short list before assuming anything is broken.
- You have not equipped the correct fruit version. V2 unlock needs Lightning V1 active; the F move needs Lightning V2 active, not V1.
- The Thunder God Title is missing. It is a separate drop from the Lightning Boss with pity at 70 kills.
- The Amaru Clan is not equipped for the F move step. Rolling it is not enough; you must have it active.
- You are short on one material. The guaranteed drops stack fast, but Taiko Drums, Golden Staff, and the title all rely on lower drop rates.
Compared to V1, which anyone can roll for with enough coins, V2 is a dedicated grind built around one boss and one brutal title drop. Line up your Luck build for the kills, keep other Sea 2 bosses in rotation during respawn timers, and the materials will pile up until Lightning V2 and its F move are yours.
