Wuthering Waves: How to Beat the Myriad Snare – Rustfire Chassis Boss

Where to find the Mengzhou automaton, how to counter its attacks, the teams that break it fastest, and every drop it gives.

Where to find the Mengzhou automaton, how to counter its attacks, the teams that break it fastest, and every drop it gives.

The Myriad Snare – Rustfire Chassis is a world boss added to the Mengzhou region in Wuthering Waves. It is a heavy automaton that you also face during the version 3.5 main story, and it punishes sloppy positioning with long-reaching arm and chain attacks. The fastest way to beat it is to bring Havoc Bane damage, learn its wind-up tells, and dodge the moves that knock you down.

Quick answer: Travel to Western Fang Peak in Mengzhou, northwest of Xuanfang Hold, activate the Nexus, ride through the green holographic gate, and fight the boss with a Havoc Bane team such as Yangyang Xuanling, Phrolova, and Chisa. Dodge its glowing AoE and steam-charge, then spend 60 Waveplates to claim the drops.

The boss sits in the Western Fang Peak area of Mengzhou, to the northwest of Xuanfang Hold. You reach it through the Hundred-Span Corridor, and there is a Nexus nearby that lets you teleport straight to the spot.

Unlock the Mengzhou map and fast travel to the Nexus near Western Fang Peak. This puts you within riding distance of the arena entrance.
Look for the large green holographic gate. Drive your bike toward it and pass through the gate to enter the boss arena.

Attacks to watch and how to react

The Rustfire Chassis fights with a heavy left arm, a chain-and-ball right arm, and a large shield wheel. Most of its damage comes from telegraphed slams and charges, so reading the wind-ups matters more than raw reaction speed.

Weakness and best teams

The Rustfire Chassis is weak to Havoc Bane and carries high Fusion resistance, so avoid leaning on Fusion damage dealers. This weakness also applies when you meet it in endgame modes such as Tower of Adversity and Endstate Matrix.

Chisa and Yangyang Xuanling are the standout picks because both can inflict Havoc Bane. Any of the following teams clears the fight efficiently.

  • Yangyang Xuanling, Phrolova, Chisa
  • Chisa, Cartethyia, Ciaccona
  • Hiyuki, Lucilla, Chisa

Rewards for defeating the boss

You need 60 Waveplates to collect the full reward set after a win. Without them, you can still absorb the Echo but forfeit the experience, materials, and intimacy. The drops include the following.

  • Intimacy
  • Union EXP
  • Sealed Tube
  • Resonance Potion
  • Energy Core
  • Solidarity’s Loneflame
  • Standard Weapon Mold
  • Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis echo

Once the health bar empties, the fight ends and the reward prompt appears. Keep a Havoc Bane character on the field, punish the wind-up frames on its slams and charge, and this Mengzhou automaton becomes a reliable source of Solidarity’s Loneflame and its matching Echo.
