Every fighter in Final Fantasy Resonance has a Limit Burst, a special attack or support move that becomes available once that character’s limit gauge is full. The in-game Help page says it in one line: “Fill up a character’s limit gauge to unleash a powerful attack called a Limit Burst.”
Quick answer: Every character starts with a Limit Burst, used with R once their limit gauge is full: Rain’s Infinity Drive, Lasswell’s Null Moon, Fina’s Holy Ray, Lid’s March of the Machines and Nichol’s Formation: Steeled Advance.
Most of them pick up a second Limit Burst later. Rain, Lasswell and Fina learn theirs at Lv 25, and Nichol learns his at Lv 30. Jake, Sakura and Archwitch Fina join later in the story, and each brings their own set.
| Character | Limit Burst (learned) | Target | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rain | Infinity Drive (Lv 1) | One enemy | “Deal Fire physical damage to an enemy. Damage increases by 50% if target is staggered.” |
| Rain | Crimson Onslaught (Lv 25) | All enemies | “Deal Fire physical damage to all enemies. Damage increases as the number of targets decreases.” |
| Lasswell | Null Moon (Lv 1) | One enemy | “Deal non-elemental physical damage to an enemy. Target is more easily staggered for 3 turns.” |
| Lasswell | Transient Rite (Lv 25) | All enemies | Ice physical damage to all enemies |
| Fina | Holy Ray (Lv 1) | All enemies | “Deal Light magic damage to all enemies. Power scales with sanctity.” |
| Fina | Radiant Restoration (Lv 25) | All allies | “Revive all KO’d allies and restore their HP.” |
| Lid | March of the Machines (Lv 1) | All enemies | “Deal physical damage to all enemies with a chance to inflict Confuse.” |
| Nichol | Formation: Steeled Advance (Lv 1) | All allies | “Fill allies’ LB gauges when they act. Effect expires for each ally after they perform 3 actions.” |
| Nichol | Mirroring Prism (Lv 30) | All allies | “Grant each party member the ability to perform their selected action twice. Effect only triggers once.” |
| Jake | T.R.N.D. (when he joins) | One enemy | “Deal Wind physical damage to an enemy. Has a high critical hit rate.” |
| Jake | Glücksschmied (Lv 30) | One enemy | “Deal physical damage to an enemy. Damage scales with luck level. Luck level resets after use.” |
| Sakura | Eternal Veil (when she joins) | All allies | “Activate a barrier on all allies that nullifies damage taken once.” |
| Sakura | Sakura’s Ultima (Lv 35) | All enemies | “Deal non-elemental magic damage to all enemies.” |
| Archwitch Fina | Chaotic Convergence (when she joins) | One enemy | “Deal Dark magic damage to an enemy.” |
| Archwitch Fina | Abyss Graviton (Lv 35) | One enemy | “Deal Dark magic damage to an enemy.” |
| Archwitch Fina | Fel Meteor (Archwitch’s Grimoire) | All enemies | “Deal Dark magic damage to all enemies.” |
How to use a Limit Burst
On the party panel in the bottom-right corner, look beneath each character’s HP and MP for the pink limit gauge. It fills automatically during battle.

For damage Limit Bursts, wait for the right opening: enemies take more damage while staggered, and Infinity Drive deals an additional 50% to a staggered target. Holding these bursts until an enemy breaks can therefore pay off. See how stagger works in Final Fantasy Resonance for the full rules, or check the controls and keybinds for keyboard and controller for the other inputs.

Add to Google Preferences →Rain: Infinity Drive and Crimson Onslaught
Infinity Drive hits a single enemy with Fire physical damage and does 50% more when that enemy is staggered. That bonus is the reason to sit on it until a stagger lands. It also fits any fight against an enemy weak to Fire.
At Lv 25, Rain gains Crimson Onslaught, a Fire physical attack that hits every enemy and grows more powerful as fewer foes remain.
Lasswell: Null Moon and Transient Rite
Null Moon first strikes one foe with physical force that has no elemental affinity, leaving the target “more easily staggered for 3 turns”. Cast it near the start of a boss encounter to help trigger stagger, or save it for an enemy already weakened.

At Lv 25, Lasswell gains Transient Rite, an attack that deals Ice physical damage to every enemy.
Fina: Holy Ray and Radiant Restoration
Holy Ray unleashes Light magic against every enemy present, with sanctity determining its strength. Its reach and element make it useful against groups and foes vulnerable to Light. Learn how the stat works in what sanctity does in Final Fantasy Resonance.

Fina learns Radiant Restoration at Lv 25. The ability brings back all knocked-out allies and restores their HP.
Lid: March of the Machines
March of the Machines strikes every enemy with physical damage and may inflict Confuse. In Old Town in Chapter 3, we used it to finish an Ogre Mage.

The animation sends an army of mechanical chocobos charging into the enemy line.

Lid’s skill list from Lv 1 through Lv 32 contains just one Limit Burst: March of the Machines.
Nichol: Formation: Steeled Advance and Mirroring Prism
Formation: Steeled Advance deals no damage. It instead replenishes allies’ limit gauges when they take actions, with the effect continuing for 3 actions per ally.

Use it as a major enemy breaks so the rest of your party can add more Limit Bursts during the stagger window; that is how the Wave Lopros fight plays out. Nichol gains Mirroring Prism at Lv 30, allowing every party member to use their chosen action twice, for one activation.
Jake, Sakura and Archwitch Fina
These three join later in the story, and each arrives with a Limit Burst already in hand.
- T.R.N.D. is Jake’s starting ability, dealing Wind physical damage with a strong chance of a critical hit. He learns Glücksschmied at Lv 30.
- Sakura starts with Eternal Veil, a barrier that cancels damage once, and learns Sakura’s Ultima at Lv 35.
- Archwitch Fina starts with Chaotic Convergence and learns Abyss Graviton at Lv 35.
Archwitch Fina can also learn Fel Meteor through the Archwitch’s Grimoire, whose description reads “Grants an ally known as the Archwitch the ability to learn the Fel Meteor limit burst.” The Grimoire comes with the Final Fantasy Resonance Deluxe Edition. More on her kit is in the Archwitch Fina breakdown.
Limit Bursts and Resonance
Limit Bursts and Resonances are separate systems.

After a stagger chain, choose a Resonance from the Select Resonance wheel. Which options appear depends on the Visions in your party. For instance, Fina, Rain and Lid together offer Crystal Braver, Hibernal Fury and Healing Wind.

The two systems do meet in one place. Tronn’s Mastery Bonus “Fill LB on Stagger”, unlocked at MR 3, ties staggers directly to the limit gauge. Every option is laid out in the full Resonance list, and mastery unlocks are explained in the Vision mastery rank rundown.
Where Limit Bursts made the difference
Boss fights are where these moves pay off. In our Kolobos Ruins fight, Holy Ray staggered The Hunger v2 and Null Moon finished it, a combo covered in the The Hunger boss fight. In Old Town, we used Infinity Drive and Holy Ray in the Water Dragon’s staggers, as detailed in how to beat the Water Dragon.
