The Blink Talisman is the item that lets you cross the chasms blocking progress in Echoes of Aincrad, most notably during the Violet Fencer quest and the search for Teardrop Cave. It works by changing your dodge into a short teleport, so a normal running jump will never reach the far ledge on its own. The trick is that no on-screen button ever tells you to dodge, which is why the crossing feels broken until you know the input.
Quick answer: Stand at the edge, use the Blink Talisman from your quick-use menu, then run off the edge, jump, and dodge forward in mid-air. The dodge becomes a teleport and carries you across.

Where to buy the Blink Talisman and its price
You get the Blink Talisman from an item merchant located to the north on the map. Talk to the seller, open the buy menu, and scroll down until you reach the Blink Talisman entry. Buy more than one, since crossing a gap can take a few attempts while you learn the timing.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Source | Item merchant, north on the map |
| Price | 500 Col each |
| Carry limit | 5 at a time |
| Effect | Changes evasion into teleportation for 30 seconds |
| Can activate in air | Yes |
The in-game description reads: “Changes evasion into teleportation for 30 seconds. Can even be activated while in the air, allowing the user to jump over chasms.” That 30-second window matters, because the teleport only exists while the talisman is active.

When you reach an edge where the talisman can be used, a text prompt appears: “The light of a Blink Talisman lingers. You may be able to cross by using its powers and jumping.” Glowing yellow particles also rise from the ground at these crossing points. For the Violet Fencer quest, head to Goldenpeak Hill in the center of the quest area and approach the gap there.

Note: The dodge input is the whole point. No highlighted button or extra prompt appears for it, which is exactly why so many players think the gap can’t be crossed.
How to know it worked
A successful blink lands you cleanly on the opposite ledge instead of sliding down the rock face. Once you are across, the path continues normally and you can keep moving toward your objective, whether that is finishing the Violet Fencer quest or reaching Teardrop Cave. You can even jump and blink back across the same gap, which is a good way to confirm the timing before you commit to a longer route.
Why the jump fails
- You jumped without dodging. A plain jump does not reach the far side and you fall into the water.
- The talisman was not active. If you did not use it first, or the 30-second window ran out, your dodge stays a normal dodge and no teleport happens.
- You dodged too early or too late. The blink needs to fire while you are airborne and moving toward the far ledge.
Keep a few talismans in your pouch and re-activate one each time you respawn, since falling short returns you to the edge with the effect ended. Once the jump-and-dodge rhythm clicks, the same technique clears every gap marked by the lingering talisman light across the map.
