Leaderboard placement in Anime Expeditions rewards players who clear content the fastest and push the farthest through Story, Expeditions, and raids. That comes down to three things you control from day one, which are a strong damage team, a stable Yen economy, and enough Gems to keep summoning meta units. Nail all three and top-10 placement becomes a matter of grinding clears rather than luck.
Quick answer: Field S-tier DPS units, run two farm units for economy, use the Wave Zero placement trick for a free early farm, and redeem every active code for Gems to fuel summons. Then push the hardest Story acts and raids you can beat to bank score.

Build a top-tier damage team first
In the release meta, rankings mostly come down to how much value each unit provides on its own. Synergies exist but are still thin, so a slot filled with an S-tier Mythic or Secret unit almost always beats a clever combo of weaker ones. Prioritize the units below and evolve them as materials allow.
| Tier | Units |
|---|---|
| S | Shadow (Divine), Puppet (Telekinetic), 8th Sword (Berserk), Crimson (Brother), Cursed Student (True Love), Flame Emperor (Reincarnate), Ramen Guy, Toy Maker, Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1) |
| A | String Demon (Awakened), Reaper (Released), Lady Giant (Envy), Hollow (Blaze), Forbidden Teacher, The Hero, True Saint (Holy), Elf Mage (Unleashed) |
Shadow (Divine) is the most complete carry available. It brings damage, permanent summons, Stun, Rewind, and a global Magical buff in a single slot, and its Shadow Realm rewinds enemies while granting every Magical unit 25% more Damage for 30 seconds. That effectively acts as a boss-wave reset. When you evaluate any unit for a leaderboard team, weigh its Damage, Attack Speed, Range, and status effects such as Burn, Freeze, Slow, and Bleed, since crowd control lets you clear waves faster and stall dangerous enemies.

Add to Google Preferences →Set up your Yen economy with farm units
DPS means nothing if you cannot afford to place it. Two “money units” carry your early economy and let you drop expensive carries sooner in a run.
| Farm unit | Rarity | Cost | Placement limit | SPA |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ramen Guy | Legendary | 425 Yen | 1 | 4.8s |
| Stone Alchemist | Epic | 550 Yen | 3 | 4.8s |
Place these before your damage units so the Yen is flowing by the time tougher waves arrive. The faster your economy scales, the earlier you can field a full board of carries, which is exactly what separates a fast clear from a slow one on the leaderboard.

Stockpile Gems with active codes
Every meta unit you own started as a summon, and summons cost Gems (50 for a single, 500 for a 10x pull). Free codes are the fastest way to bank Gems and reroll items early. Redeem these in the code menu inside the game, which you can open from the official Anime Expeditions Roblox page.
| Code | Reward |
|---|---|
| RELEASE | 2,500 Gems plus Trait Crystals |
| EA | 2,500 Gems and 20 Trait Crystals |
| EA+ | 2,500 Gems and 30 Trait Crystals (requires EA+ entitlement) |
| AE | 500 Gems plus equipment and stat reroll items |
Also claim the Reward Calendar and Beginner’s Path payouts. Early login days hand out large Gem drops (the Day 1 Reward Calendar entry alone gives 1,500 Gems), and the Beginner’s Path event has a Claim All button that clears its tasks in one press.
Spend Gems on the right banner units
Point your Gems at Mythic and Secret units, since those are the pulls that actually move your leaderboard placement. The Standard Banner features Cursed Student, Elf Mage as the Featured Mythic, and String Demon. Watch your pity counters while you pull, as Legendary Pity caps at 50, Mythic Pity at 400, and Secret Pity at 10,000.
Tip: Save your bulk pulls for the 10x option at 500 Gems rather than spending singles, and time them so a guaranteed pity lands on a Mythic-or-better unit instead of a filler Legendary.

Push clears to bank leaderboard score
Once your team and economy are set, the ranking work is repetition. Clear Story acts for first-clear rewards and star objectives, then move into Expeditions and raids such as Spirit City Acts 1–3 for tougher, higher-value content. A balanced raid squad wants a carry, a control unit for crowd control, and a farm to keep placements flowing, with your upgrade order favoring the carry that scales fastest.
You know your setup is working when your fastest completion times keep dropping and you can beat acts that previously wiped you. That combination of deeper clears and faster runs is what pulls a player from the middle of the pack into the top 10, so keep evolving your S-tier core, feeding your economy early, and redeeming codes the moment new ones go live.
