Haze Seas: How to Get the Gryphon Sword Fast

Farm the Level 7000 Red Emperor in Sea 3, cut its spawn timer with superboss kills, and roll the Gryphon drop.

Farm the Level 7000 Red Emperor in Sea 3, cut its spawn timer with superboss kills, and roll the Gryphon drop.

The Gryphon is a rare sword in Haze Seas that only comes from one place: the Red Emperor boss in Sea 3. There is no shop purchase and no crafting recipe. To get it quickly, you focus on two things at once, killing the Red Emperor as often as possible and shortening the gap between its spawns.

Quick answer: Defeat the Level 7000 Red Emperor in the black throne room on Land of the Gods. It drops the Gryphon on each kill, and killing any superboss on the server trims its remaining spawn timer by 10 minutes, so clear superbosses between attempts to force faster spawns.

Red Emperor boss stats and drops

The Red Emperor is the only source of the Gryphon. It hits hard, so bring ranged damage and enough survivability to outlast a long fight.

DetailValue
Level7000
LocationSea 3, Land of the Gods (black throne room)
Health530,108 HP
Spawn cooldownEvery 4 hours
Per-hit damageOver 1,000 HP

Every kill rolls three separate drops. The Blade Fragments are guaranteed, while the Emperor Cape and Gryphon are chance-based.

DropChance
Blade Fragments (x2)100%
Emperor Cape5%
GryphonAround 5% (listed as 2.5% in some showcases)

Note: The Gryphon is one of the more attainable endgame swords precisely because its drop rate sits well above options like Ace (0.1%) or the crafted Dual Dark Blade. Expect several kills before it lands.

Find and spawn the Red Emperor

Travel to Land of the Gods in Sea 3 and head to the black throne room, which is the largest building on the island. This is where the Red Emperor appears.
Check the spawn timer. The Red Emperor returns on a 4-hour cooldown, so if it is not present you either wait or actively shorten the timer.
Kill superbosses across the server while you wait. Each superboss defeated removes 10 minutes from the Red Emperor’s remaining spawn time. Chaining these kills is the fastest way to bring the boss back sooner instead of idling for the full four hours.

Defeat the boss efficiently

With 530,108 HP and hits above 1,000 damage, the Red Emperor punishes melee-only setups. Ranged devil fruits let you deal steady damage while staying out of its attack range.

  • Use a ranged fruit such as Phoenix or Dragon to poke from a safe distance.
  • Keep moving to avoid its high per-hit damage rather than trading blows head-on.
  • Bring damage-boosting gear so the long health bar drops faster.

You know the run worked when the Red Emperor dies and the loot roll runs. The two Blade Fragments always appear; if the Gryphon roll succeeds, the sword is added to your inventory. If it does not drop, wait for or force the next spawn and try again.

Gryphon moveset and mastery unlocks

The Gryphon carries three abilities that unlock as you raise Sword Mastery. The first is available the moment you equip it, while the other two open up at Mastery 25 and 50.

MoveKeyMasteryEffect
Crimson BarrageC0Wraps you in a crimson aura and fires a slash toward the cursor.
Death CrossX25Dashes at the target with a crimson aura for heavy damage.
Vanishing TornadoesZ50Releases three crimson tornadoes in different directions.

To get the most out of the sword, put stat points into the Sword stat and equip damage-boosting gear. Its three-move kit covers close range and combos, which is why the Gryphon holds up well in both boss fights and PvP once fully leveled.
