Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: How to Get the Warehouse Key (Sugarcane and Its Yields)

Where the key sits on Cat Island, how to grab it stealthily, and the exact rewards for finishing the quest.

Where the key sits on Cat Island, how to grab it stealthily, and the exact rewards for finishing the quest.

The Warehouse Key is the gate that blocks progress in the Sugarcane and Its Yields quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. It sits on Cat Island, deep inside a heavily guarded stretch where a single alarm bell can bring the whole patrol down on you. You can’t pick it up off the ground. It has to be taken from Beckford at the party on the southern edge of the island.

Quick answer: Head to the southern side of Cat Island, climb onto the rooftop overlooking the festivities, then double-assassinate Beckford and the guest he is speaking to. Loot the Warehouse Key from Beckford’s body and open the warehouse to complete the quest.

Where the Warehouse Key is on Cat Island

The key holder stays near the warehouse on the southern part of Cat Island, close to the party that Beckford is hosting. As you close in, you’ll notice Beckford’s agent demanding the key from a guard, which confirms who is carrying it. The area is packed with patrols overseeing the event, so a loud approach will get you swarmed fast.

Stealth matters here more than combat skill. Stay off the ground path, use the rooftops, and keep out of sight until you are ready to strike.

Grab the extra loot before the fight

There’s a house right before the event area worth a quick detour. The first floor holds some free resources, and you can climb up and slip in through a window on the second floor. Inside, you’ll find the Narwhal’s Thorn trinket and the Crimson Sails for the Jackdaw. Collecting these before you trigger the fight means you won’t have to backtrack through a hostile area afterward.

How to take the Warehouse Key

Move to the southern side of Cat Island and approach the warehouse district. Climb the wall and get up onto the rooftop near the warehouse where the key holder roams. Keep low so you don’t trip any of the surrounding guards.
From the roof of the house, you’ll spot Beckford mingling with his guests. Line up your entry so you drop straight into the middle of the group when you commit.
Open the encounter with a double assassination on Beckford and the guest he is talking to. Taking both out at once removes the two biggest threats immediately and makes the rest of the party far easier to clear.
Finish off every remaining hostile in the area, then loot the Warehouse Key from Beckford’s body. Don’t skip this step, since the key is the only way forward.

Note: If you’d rather avoid a full brawl, you can stay stealthy instead. Hide in the bushes near the warehouse and wait for the key holder to wander close, then pickpocket the key quietly without alerting anyone.

Open the warehouse and finish the quest

With the key in hand, follow the green quest marker to the warehouse entrance. Clear out any guards still standing nearby, then open the warehouse and let your crew move in to plunder it. Once the resources are taken, the Sugarcane and Its Yields quest is marked complete.

You’ll know it worked when the quest updates after the plunder and the reward payout lands. If the objective doesn’t clear, the usual cause is that the Warehouse Key never left Beckford’s body, so return and loot it before heading in.

Sugarcane and Its Yields rewards

RewardAmount
Reales1,250
Rum Barrel25
Wine15
Burning of Royal James portrait1

There’s one more reward that arrives before the ending. James Kidd hands you the Rope Dart at the start of the quest. It lets you pull enemies toward you or string guards up from higher ground, which makes it one of the most useful stealth tools you can pick up this early. That alone is a strong reason to run Sugarcane and Its Yields as soon as it becomes available.
