Bad Inhibitions in Marvel’s Wolverine: Nightmare Door 5 Adamantium Guide

Where to find the fifth Nightmare Door in Mutant Detected, and how to clear its nine-enemy fight under the 50-second Adamantium cutoff.

Where to find the fifth Nightmare Door in Mutant Detected, and how to clear its nine-enemy fight under the 50-second Adamantium cutoff.

Nightmare Door #5 sits in the Mutant Detected chapter of Marvel’s Wolverine, and the trial behind it is called Bad Inhibitions. It is a pure combat challenge — nine enemies in a snowy arena, no platforming, no puzzle — which makes it one of the cleanest places in the game to farm the top Adamantium medal.

Quick answer: Follow the purple roots at the end of the corridor past the jet engine sequence, enter the portal, and kill all nine enemies in under 50 seconds for Adamantium.

Bad Inhibitions medal times

The results screen ranks you on elapsed time only. Damage taken, combo length, and style are not scored.

MedalTime
AdamantiumUnder 0:50
GoldUnder 0:55
SilverUnder 1:05
Bronze1:05 or slower

The gap between medals is tight. Gold is only five seconds slower than Adamantium, so a single missed dodge or a long walk between enemy groups is usually what costs the top tier.

For trophies you only need Adamantium in one trial out of the fifteen. Bad Inhibitions is a good candidate because the nine enemies spawn close together and explosive crates are already in the arena.

Where to find Nightmare Door 5 in Mutant Detected

The door appears while the active objective is “Track and kill Trask”. Like every Nightmare Door, it is marked by thick purple roots running along the floor, so once you spot the trail you can simply follow it to the end.

Get through the portal and the sequence inside the jet engine, then keep walking forward until the path opens up. Take the hallway on your right rather than continuing straight.
Use the wall-mounted console to open the sliding metal door and pass through. Logan is on comms with Mystique during this stretch, so you can keep moving while the conversation plays out.

Once inside, look to your left for a second door and go through it. Run down the storage corridor lined with shelves and scattered paperwork until the purple trail appears on the floor.
Follow the trail to the glowing blue barrier at the end and smash straight through it with your claws. That awards a small XP bonus and drops you into the wooden cabin room where the purple flame portal spawns.

Walk up to the portal once it forms in the middle of the room. The Bad Inhibitions prompt appears, and pressing Triangle starts the trial after a three-second countdown.

Clearing the nine-enemy fight under 50 seconds

The objective counter reads “Kill all enemies 0/9” and ticks up with each kill. Enemies are the armored, high-tech variety with blue glowing weapon trails, and they telegraph heavy hits with red circles on the ground.

Move toward the largest cluster the moment the countdown ends. Standing still and waiting for enemies to approach one at a time is the single biggest time loss in this trial.
Use the red explosive crates scattered around the arena. Hitting one while two or three enemies are grouped near it deals heavy damage to all of them at once and can effectively remove a whole pocket of the spawn count.

Dodge the red-marked attacks rather than blocking through them, then go straight back into claw strikes. The timer does not pause for animations, so every avoided knockdown is a second or two saved.
Finish weakened enemies immediately instead of rotating to a fresh target. Leaving several enemies at low health across the arena forces extra travel time at the end of the run.

A finished run in the 49-second range lands just inside the Adamantium threshold, which gives you very little margin. If you are running a few seconds over, the fix is almost always better crate usage and tighter target selection, not more damage.

Confirming the Adamantium medal and rewards

When the ninth enemy drops, the trial ends on its own and the results screen appears. That screen is your confirmation — it lists your Time, your Best Time, and the medal tier you earned, with Adamantium shown at the top of the ranking list.

Clearing the trial also pays out an Ability Point, visible as the AP counter ticking up on the same screen. Higher medals hand out more Adaptation XP, which is how you climb toward Adaptation Level 10 faster.

From the results screen you can pick Retry to attempt a faster time immediately, or Continue to return to the story. The Best Time field keeps your fastest run, so a slower retry will not overwrite an Adamantium clear.

Replaying Bad Inhibitions after the story

Nothing here is missable. If you walked past Door 5 or settled for a lower medal, the trial can be replayed from the Nightmare Cabin once you have finished the campaign, and the Collectible Tracker in the pause menu shows which doors you have already discovered.

Coming back later is usually the easier path to Adamantium, since you will have more skills unlocked and can kill the nine enemies considerably faster than you could during Mutant Detected. Simply interact with the bed in the Nightmare Cabin to reach chapter select, then pick the trial from there.
