Every Item in Build an Ant Empire (Costs and Effects)

Items are single-use equipment in Build an Ant Empire, bought from the Items shop at the center of the map. Each one gives your ants a temporary speed boost or applies a mutation that raises their efficiency, and once used it is gone.

Quick answer: There are 11 items for sale, split into four Speed Jellies and seven Mutation Potions. Buy them from the Items shop in the middle of the map; each item can be used only once.

Speed Jellies

Speed Jellies raise the movement speed of the ants you equip them on, which shortens the time each worker spends traveling between food sources and the nest. Faster trips mean more food collected in the same window, so these help most when your ants are covering long routes.

Normal Speed Jelly

The cheapest boost at $10k. It sets movement speed to 1.3x for five minutes, which suits an early colony still building up its first steady income.

Strong Speed Jelly

Priced at $100M, this jelly pushes speed to 1.6x and holds it for 10 minutes, doubling the duration of the Normal version while adding a bigger multiplier.

Super Speed Jelly

At $10T, the Super Speed Jelly grants 2x speed for 15 minutes, a strong pick once your colony is generating trillions in income.

Prismatic Speed Jelly

The top speed option costs $100Qa and applies 2.5x movement speed for 15 minutes. It carries the highest multiplier of any jelly and is aimed at late-game colonies.

Mutation Potions

Mutation Potions change an ant permanently by giving it a mutation that multiplies its EFF value. Higher EFF means the ant produces more, so these are long-term upgrades rather than timed boosts. One potion clears mutations, while the rest apply progressively stronger ones.

Mutation Removal Potion

For $100k, this potion strips the current mutation off an ant. Use it when you want to reset an ant before applying a different or stronger mutation.

Leaf, Bubblegum, and Candy Mutations

The Leaf Mutation Potion costs $1M and sets a 1.35x EFF multiplier. The Bubblegum Mutation Potion at $5M raises that to 1.75x, and the Candy Mutation Potion at $50B pushes it to 2x. These form the early and mid tiers of the mutation ladder.

Rainbow, Petal, and Starlight Mutations

The high-end potions give the largest EFF gains. Rainbow costs $100B for 2.25x, Petal costs $500T for 3x, and the Starlight Mutation Potion tops the list at $5.1Qi with a 5x multiplier. Reserve these for the ants you plan to keep as your main producers.

How to buy and use items

Open Build An Ant Empire on Roblox and head to the Items shop at the center of the map. Select an item you can afford, confirm the purchase, then apply it to the ant you want to boost or mutate.

A Speed Jelly shows its effect immediately as the equipped ant moves faster, with the boost lasting the listed time before it wears off. A Mutation Potion updates the ant’s mutation and EFF multiplier right away, and that change stays until you use a Mutation Removal Potion.
