Find the Chameleons [301]: How to Get All 20 New Chameleons

Exact locations for the Kraken, Candy, Snow, Lighthouse, Desert, and Spawn additions in the 301 update.

Exact locations for the Kraken, Candy, Snow, Lighthouse, Desert, and Spawn additions in the 301 update.

The 301 update to Find the Chameleons pushed the collection target to 301 entries and scattered 20 fresh hiding spots across six areas. Every one of them is collected the same way, by pointing your gun tool at the chameleon and firing. The tricky part is knowing where to aim.

Quick answer: The 20 new chameleons are Kraken36 and Kraken37, Candy26 and Candy27, Snow36 through Snow39, Lighthouse17 through Lighthouse20, Desert34 through Desert37, and Spawn127 through Spawn130. Open the Index, read the hint on each locked entry, teleport to that biome, and shoot the chameleon at the spot listed below.

Each row pairs the Index hint with the exact object the chameleon is sitting on. Rarity is shown as the game labels it in the Index, which is useful for spotting which finds are worth the extra climb.

Kraken biome: Kraken36 and Kraken37

Open the Index and select Kraken37. Its hint reads “Loves sheep,” which points straight at the flock on the grass island in the Kraken area.
Walk into the group of sheep and look for the chameleon tucked between them. It sits at ground level, so drop your camera low before shooting.
Switch to Kraken36, whose hint mentions welcoming you to the rocky island. Head over to the island and shoot the chameleon perched on the welcome sign itself.

Candy biome: Candy26 and Candy27

Both Candy additions are Hard rarity, and both sit above ground level. Candy26 stands on a fence running along a hill, matching the “Waving on a hill” hint. Approach from the slope below and it becomes a clean silhouette against the sky.

Candy27 hangs from a candy cane structure nearby. Because it is attached to the cane rather than standing on a flat surface, it is easy to walk past at eye level. Tilt the camera up while circling the cane and fire once you have a clear line.

Snow biome: Snow36, Snow37, Snow38 and Snow39

Teleport to the Snow biome and start with Snow39, since it is right at the entrance. Its hint welcomes you to the snow biome, and the chameleon is on that welcome sign.
Move to the ice fishing setup for Snow36. The hint is “A lot of ice,” but the chameleon is not on the ice itself. Look inside the bucket sitting beside the fishing hole.

Find the wooden shed for Snow38. This one is lying flat on the floor inside, so step through the doorway and look down rather than scanning the walls.
Finish with Snow37, the Hard entry hinted as “Standing high.” Climb onto the roof of a nearby house, then shoot the chameleon sitting on the wire pole above it.

Lighthouse and pirate island: Lighthouse17 to Lighthouse20

Three of these four are Legendary, and all three are height-based. Lighthouse17 is the exception, a Hard find camouflaged on green blocks in the grassy stretch near the lighthouse. It blends with the terrain colour, so sweep slowly along the block edges instead of relying on movement to catch your eye.

For Lighthouse18, climb the lighthouse and check near the top of the tower. Lighthouse19 sits on the pirate ship’s sail, which is the tallest structure on the pirate island and matches its hint exactly. Lighthouse20 is close by on a flagpole, still on the pirate island.

Tip: shooting from the deck upward often works better than climbing the mast, since the sail gives you a wide, flat target from below.

Desert biome: Desert34, Desert35 and the pyramid dungeon

Head for the canopy structure flagged by the “Under the sun” hint. Desert35, the Mythic entry, is underneath the wooden section, while Desert34 sits on top of the yellow canopy. Both can be collected from roughly the same spot.
Move to the pyramid for Desert36 and Desert37. Both share the hint about entering the hidden dungeon, and both are inside the maze rather than anywhere on the pyramid’s exterior.
Work through the maze to its far end, where Desert36 is waiting. This is the longest single detour in the update, so clear it in one run rather than backtracking.
While still inside the dungeon, look up for Desert37. It is placed high on a ledge along the maze walls and is easy to miss if you keep your camera level with the corridors.

Spawn area: Spawn127 to Spawn130 around Mecha-Mart

Three of the four Spawn additions cluster around the Mecha-Mart supermarket, so run them as one loop. Spawn127 is the “Supermarket” hint and sits on a yellow wet floor sign inside the store. Spawn128 is deeper in, near the back shelves.

Step outside for Spawn129, hinted as being next to the supermarket. It is near the fence alongside the building. Spawn130 closes out the set with the “VERY close to spawn” hint, resting on a grey stone structure beside the spawn fountain.

How to confirm a chameleon was collected

A successful shot unlocks the entry immediately and bumps your Finder counter, which sits on screen as a fraction out of 301. Reopen the Index after any awkward shot and check that the entry has flipped from a hint to an unlocked chameleon with its rarity label showing.

If the counter does not move, the usual cause is a blocked line of fire. Chameleons tucked inside buckets, behind shelves, or up against maze walls need a clear angle, so reposition rather than firing repeatedly from the same spot. Height-based finds like Snow37, Lighthouse18 and Desert37 often require you to physically get level with them before the shot registers.

Collecting all 20 takes the running total to 299 of 301, leaving the remaining pair as the final gap in the Index. The Find the Chameleons experience page lists the current version and last update date if you want to check whether the count has shifted again before starting a sweep.
