Abaia’s Spite sits at the very end of the Skycrest content added in Fisch version 2.0, and it is not a shop purchase or a lucky drop. It is a crafted rod, and the recipe demands that you already beat the island’s boss encounter at least twice. Everything else on Skycrest — the idols, the charms, the crystals, the storm weather — exists to get you to that point.
Quick answer: Defeat Abaia to earn the Line of the Skies rod and an Empyrean Relic, then bring that rod, a Squalled Abaia, an Ancestral Abaia, a Petrified-mutation fish caught at Skycrest and 750,000 C$ to the crafting table on Skycrest.
Abaia’s Spite crafting materials
The craft happens at the witch NPC’s crafting table in the Skycrest settlement. Every ingredient except the coins comes from the Abaia hunt or from fishing on the island itself, so there is no way to shortcut it with money.

A Mutation Totem can be used on the Empyrean Relic to turn it into a Shiny Empyrean Relic before you hand it over. Hold onto any spare relic, too — Forgemaster Torin trades one for the Empyrean Idol skin once your Idol Favor hits Level 50.
Getting to Skycrest and the Crest Amulet
Idol Favor Level 50 is the real gate
Idol Favor is Skycrest’s own level system, and almost every lock on the island checks it. The Keeper of the Sky quest, “Keeper of the Sky: Crystal Reclamation”, lists Level 50 as an objective alongside placing all ten crystals, so there is no route to Abaia that skips the grind.
Two things raise it quickly. Fishing the stone idol pond with a fast lure-speed rod builds Favor steadily, and Master Hiroto’s timed angler challenges scale with your current level and pay out in large chunks once you can survive the difficulty. Sacrificing fish at the Fire of Spirits also grants Favor XP, so that step doubles as progression.
Seven stone-carved idols — Hayate, Ebisu, Fudo, Nagomi, Goriki, Shunsoku and Amanojaku — each run their own trials. Clearing an idol’s full set awards its Charm, which you then level up by catching fish on the island. Charms scale Luck, Control, Resilience, Max Weight, Lure Speed and Progress Speed. The Titanic and Flash Charms are locked behind extreme trials that only appear during Tropical Squall or Raging Squall weather.
Tip: buy a Tropical Squall Totem from Elder Kaito’s weekly shop. Forcing the weather on demand saves hours of waiting for the squall-only trials, and you will need squalls again later for the hunt itself.
All 10 Sky Crystal locations
The Keeper’s questline sends you back across the old map to recover ten Sky Crystals. Each one has a minimum Idol Favor level attached before it can be collected and slotted, which is why the level grind has to come first — the last crystal is gated at Level 50.

The Terrapin crystal is the one that eats the most time, since it is a low-percentage catch rather than a pickup. Keep casting in the designated pond until it hooks.
Once you have all ten, return to the huge gate on Skycrest and insert each crystal into its pedestal. When the last one is placed, the gate opens and Abaia’s Chamber becomes reachable. That is your confirmation the questline stage is done.
Summoning Abaia at the Fire of Spirits
Behind the gate sits the Fire of Spirits. Feeding it caught fish grows the flame, which raises luck and weather spawn rates for everyone nearby, and pushes a progress meter toward triggering the hunt.
Weather decides which version of the serpent shows up. Sacrificing during a Tropical Squall summons the standard Abaia. A Raging Squall is what brings out Ancestral Abaia, and you need both for the craft. Fruity Abaia, tied to Fruit Lover Frank’s limited quest, spawns under Tropical Sun instead and is not part of this recipe.
Prepare before you light it up. Abaia is an Exotic catch with brutal handling numbers, so the wrong rod turns a summon into a wasted one.

Breaking the Crest Barrier
The fight does not work like a normal catch. Abaia is wrapped in a Crest Barrier made of several layers, and filling the reeling bar once does nothing on its own. Every successful hook strips one layer.
After each break it relocates through the subterranean tunnels and outer ponds, so you have to chase it and cast again rather than camping one spot. Once the barrier is gone entirely you face it directly inside the chamber, where it uses a biting attack you need to dodge while keeping pressure on the reel.
Landing the final catch pays out the Line of the Skies rod, the Sky Keeper title and an Empyrean Relic. Run the hunt again during a Raging Squall for the Ancestral variant, and keep a squalled catch rather than selling it.

The passive is the reason to chase it. Abaia trails your line and hoards up to five of your catches, then delivers the whole batch at once with guaranteed mutations. That 80 percent Resilience is the highest of any rod in the update, and combined with infinite Max Kg it handles heavy fish better than anything else added with Skycrest.
It is not the only option worth building toward, though. The Fruitline reaches 200 percent Luck and buffs everyone fishing within ten studs, which makes it stronger in group farming sessions even if Abaia’s Spite wins on raw handling.
Why the craft is not unlocking
- Idol Favor is below the level a crystal or trial requires, which stalls the questline before the gate ever opens.
- You have fewer than ten crystals placed, so Abaia’s Chamber stays sealed.
- The Fire of Spirits has not been fed enough fish to trigger the hunt.
- You summoned under the wrong weather — Tropical Squall gives standard Abaia, Raging Squall gives Ancestral Abaia.
- You sold or sacrificed the Abaia catches or the Empyrean Relic after the fight instead of banking them.
- You have not beaten Abaia yet, so the Line of the Skies is missing from the recipe.
Skycrest is a permanent island, so the crystals, idols and the Abaia hunt are not going anywhere. The parts with a clock on them are the limited Fischfest additions layered on top, including Fruit Lover Frank’s one-week fruit questline. Build Idol Favor first, treat everything else as a dependency chain hanging off it, and the 750,000 C$ ends up being the easiest part of the whole recipe.
